I mean he is trying to get with Elena. He flirts with her and he is clearly in love with her. He even thought he kissed her. Even if Elena does fall for him, she is still with Stefan for now. If he didn't constantly cross the line with her and actually respected her relationship with Stefan, then it wouldn't be a problem but he just doesn't.

Plus anyone watching the show suspected there was at least going to be feelings with Damon and Elena. Even these guys at Reel Time said it from the the beginning. But I just enjoy the fun antics.

Keep in mind he knew(or found out) Katherine was abusing his brother too and then hated his own brother for it. But you know it's just Damon things, making enemies and falling in love with his brother's girl.

So yeah Stefan was just disagreeing with Damon that he didn’t put in any effort at all. He did put in some effort. Tbh I didn’t wanna say because I already look like such a diehard Stefan defender in these comments 😭

Side note, I love Mason’s character and all the werewolf stuff with Tyler. Can’t wait to see Bonnie again as well. She really makes such a difference in this show.

Damon asked if he showed vampire strength and Stefan said that it wasn’t that kind of strength but it was more than a human. Even without human blood Stefan is still stronger than a werewolf!
