Thanks for the honesty. TVD, The Originals and Legacies was prob my favourite show with Supernatural a close 2nd but neither show save for Originals did well with racial aspects but literally making Bonnie seem like more orphan than Elena who was actual orphan is wild. Bonnie had a father , we didn't get funerals for Grams and granted she was guest appearance Bonnie was my favorite character in books and show bc she had a moral code she was positioned to have not because she was uppity or judgemental she could be judgmental but she is a witch .Emily was supposedly friends with katrina but we don't know if that is true bc she is so manipulative. Thats what made Katherine character worthy opponent for The Originals they fell for her as mortal they thought they could use but she was self interested and way more intune with her causes than Elena. It is also why you cant look at these vampire stories outside of fantasy bc if the vampire's looked 135 then highschool 17 yo girl would be grossed out. However I am glad that story develop as it does where we deal with things as supernatural rather than humans . The story has little to do with highschool but its audience was preeteen and teen and I think those impressionable youth who loved show are ones who needed better demonstration of non racist behavior bc what show promoted was black bodies and people are magical and their to uplift white character sacrifice their own good for these people who take and take. So i appreciate viewers who fill in gaps wh With meta commentary some might not realize

2024-04-10 21:07:48 +0000 UTCUnfortunately, the reason we don’t see Bonnie a lot even though she’s a great character is because the main writer was a racist, blonde white woman. The actress who plays Bonnie revealed it long after the show was over. And she said that ian (the actor that plays Damon) the only person who advocated for her. It makes sense, because Bonnie is a witch, and they could’ve done so much with her and her family of witches, but they chose to expand Carolines character and give her more of a story than the witch.
