From the interviews I have seen its fairly obvious Ambika & Leo are firm friends in real life. They both found episode seven difficult to shoot unsurprisingly. ...Their chemistry together is amazing & lovely to watch. The maze scene has such depth of feeling & sense of longing beautifully played. Heart wrenching stuff.❣️

yeah I think a lot of one's personal experiences go into interpreting shows. I have nothing against other interpretations and they're definitely valid! It's just not how I feel. Personally, I just think he's always kinda took her for granted even before the drugs and everything, and to me that's just not quite love, despite them having great chemistry and making a lot of sense together. I see him as appreciating Emma more as a kind of safeguard that holds him together, the anchor in his everchanging life where he's constantly demeaned for being 'that privileged dude with no goals'. I'm really enjoying this show!

The reason he hasn’t pursued anything with her is because he holds her at such a high standard. He has been on drugs, and has dealt with grief…he’s been selfish and self-absorbed. He has lacked maturity. The women he chose did not get the best of him, they got the worst of him. I think it’s clear he’s always thought Emma was the one (it’s also clear in the book) but his own insecurities and lack of emotional maturity got in the way. I find different perspectives so intriguing.

Definitely not real to cheat on ur pregnant fiance. I cant support dex nor can i relate. Sure its imperfect but dex is NOT a good guy and emma deserves better. Toxic love story

I think this show's well written and directed in how they slowly reveal to us how Emma and Dex regard each other. Emma clearly has always loved Dex, and cherishes him as a person even after coming to terms with not being with him, while Dex has been consistent with not pursuing anything with her. IMO, it gets clearer and clearer with every episode that Dex has never loved her romantically. He likes her because she's an anchor to him and she lets him in because she loves him, and it's heartbreaking! I'm really enjoying it so far, and I'm watching it in real time with you guys so I'm really curious as to how the show will end!

This is an oddly cynical take on a show telling a dramatic story. People in real life don't pine for other people for years. It's just entertainment. Emma & Dex have chemistry, but Emma hasn't been sitting around waiting for him. They hadn't even spoken in years til this wedding. She moved on with her career and other guys. I just hope they end as friends or distant memories of each other, not as a couple. Emma seems to have outgrown Dex, who seems a bit blaise about his own life now. He didn't even seem excited about having a kid.

there’s a scene at the end of ep4 where we see her realize there’s no point in her waiting around for dex, he takes her pining after him kinda for granted - after that i think she stopped waiting around for him. imo it would be dismissive to disregard emma’s growth, she’s living her life she’s become a teacher, wrote a play, became an author. had a relationship (even if it didn’t work out)

I have such a different view. I think that people want to romanticize love and love is often flawed and imperfect because we’re imperfect people. In this case, no one was waiting to be chosen…Emma had moved on with her life. Everyone’s story is different but I think I love the realness because we often want love that looks like a fairytale and that’s not real. Not to say their story should be the goal post for relationships but that their journey is a testament to what happens when we grow and mature…we can experience a secure connection with someone.

I know y’all don’t like the kiss but I loved it!!! It wasn’t like it was intentional but their bond is so deep that I think their emotions got the best of them. I also think it happened as almost like a kiss of goodbye/regret to what possibly could’ve been for them. They love each other deeply and the timing isn’t right.
