It’s weird to me because Katherine was essentially doing to Stefan what Damon was doing to Caroline. She was altering his memories, taking away his choice and ability to consent and that is abuse. She wasn’t doing this to Damon, he was fully aware of what was going on. Including what she was doing to his little brother, there’s obviously still a power imbalance and I doubt he could have stopped her actions. However, he still resents and blames Stefan for his relationship with Katherine but loves Katherine still? That’s so weird. You should’ve protected your little brother. Even without the vampire element, you have Katherine, Damon’s girlfriend, manipulating and sexually abusing your 17 year old brother while you are 25 years old and you hate your little brother for it? It really puts me off Damon. The way I would despise Katherine for doing that to my sibling.

I think it’s bc of copyright purposes bc they stopped putting it on the screen like a year ago

Can you guys share where you’re watching the show please ??? Where I’m watching it is strangely just not syncing properly with yours.

I loved how they showed it from Stefan's P.O.V. on ep 6 and now you see it from Damon's P.O.V. in this ep👌🏽👌🏽

Alaric was holding vervain the last episode when Damon tried to compel him. So he’s human because it didn’t burn him. It would if he was a vampire. Also, Alaric took off his ring to show it to Jeremy in daylight a few episodes back, so that was supposed to let you know he’s not a vampire. Fun reaction! ❤️

I just went and watched your outro discussion and I'm glad you finally acknowledged that Alaric is human. I now feel like it's no longer a spoiler to say that you were supposed to realize he was human when he took off his ring in the sun and there was that dramatic musical cue. That moment kind of blew past without you guys saying anything but I didn't know if it was a spoiler to point it out so I kept it to myself. Also, he was holding vervain last episode when Damon tried to compel him (plus he looked terrified lol). Even when he was getting tossed around like a rag doll by Stefan and fumbling with his stake gun you seemed unsure so I'm glad you finally came to a definitive opinion in your closing discussion. Having a blast watching along with you guys!

I can't wait for you to confirm something you believe. It's been made explicit a couple times already but I feel like it's still spoilers if I talk about something you talked over or are forgetting or just didn't pick up. But ngl it's making me itch a little bit. Having a blast with these TVD watchalongs!

I think it's actually implied that Katherine was more into Stefan. She never had to compel Damon bc Damon was obsessed with her but she knew Stefan wouldn't do anything and everything for her

Liv

this isn't even biased bc I really don't know what team im on (im on s2) but I honestly don't think Stefan did anything wrong in the flashbacks. he was a teenager and thought he could trust his parent (like most do) and didn't even explicitly tell his dad so idk

Liv

alaric is not a vampire, you saw him holding vervain when damon tried to compel him. As you saw with katherine, they cant touch vervain without it burning. He was holding the vervain flower and it didnt burn him

bella

Nina Dobrev does such a convincing job of playing both Katherine and Elena that you sometimes forget it's the same actress in both roles. It was nice to see the writers lay off Anna being a "manic pixie dream girl" trope in this episode too. Can't wait for your reactions on the next one!

Murphy

Excited for this one!
