I really think Maltes acting especially in that last scene of august and wilhelm was just so strong. August is such a complex character we hate him but also it’s hard not to feel for him. And malte portrays that so well. Him saying that Erik is the one that did the initiations like that is crazy but wilhelm needed to hear it. I was wondering if it was his class that had that happen to them. It explains why Vincent doesn’t want to bring it up ever and why he hates when others talk about it it would be traumatic for all of them but that could also be why he’s so strongly hating on people who are gay or anything. August also has that hatred too and it’s all down to trauma and what you’ve learnt. Them not doing the porno part to the initiations just shows that they are better than Erik and his friends but they still lived in that world away from the lower class so of course they aren’t going to be amazing at knowing anything that isn’t upper class things. Like I love Henry and Walter but even they are very one track mind. I think they do try more than others but still when you’re grown up one way it can be hard to change.
