TIGTH was phenomenal and I'd love a reaction. Though honestly, I do warn people after recommending that they should only watch if they're in a very good place because 24 years of media consumption and it's the only thing that's ever had a nasty nasty effect on my headspace afterwards 😅. It's basically hours of Connell's therapist scene in Normal People.

I like that there are some everyday life scenes and the fact that the scenes with both Emma and Dex are long enough. That way the characters and the story in general feels more real. Also, to me the casting is perfect and the chemistry is what I most love about this show. Personally couldn't feel it in the movie. It also feels somehow more British which to me is one of the main things about the whole story. Interesting to hear completely different point of views though! Funny how different people experience the same things in opposite ways.

2024-03-18 00:03:23 +0000 UTCso weird watching you react to this as someone from edinburgh! arthurs seat is actually an extinct volcano in the middle of the city. also a it’s common occurrence for people to find themselves up there for the sunrise after a wild night if they’re feeling spontaneous (and extremely waved) it’s right outside my window so it was honestly a jumpscare when rob said its name hahah

2024-03-17 04:59:04 +0000 UTCYES!!! I was wondering why they picked the show over the movie. I'm sorry, but the cast can't hold a candle to Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess as far as acting ability. I also feel like the actors they hired were entirely too young to play in this because of the evolution. I think it's the acting that sells the movie far more for me. I feel every single look and tense moment between them in the movie. That's something only experience can do in acting. I think that is why I feel nothing in the TV show. The show to me feels like a watered-down teen version that doesn't have the intensity of the movie. But, to each their own I suppose. Everyone can pick their favorites and stick to it now that we have three versions! (movie, tv show, and book).

The show absolutely wrecked me though, and I felt so much more connected to the characters. At the end of the day though, glad we have both (and the book!) so everyone can enjoy their own preferred versions! :)

The movie made its point in far less minutes in a scene. The movie had me tears. This show doesn’t make me feel anything. But when you have not watched the movie or read the book, maybe this show will be a hit for you. I personally will always favor the movie.
