2024-03-22 17:54:17 +0000 UTCFew clarifications: -In worst case scenarios, deserters go to prison if they're caught, but some military bases don't want to cause such a fuss and have it go to the media to make their base look bad so they don't send them to prison and just send them to jail for a while like how you saw Junho behind bars for beating up his senior. It varies case by case. But if they deserted past their required military service, obviously it's a prison sentence. The sad thing about deserters in RL is that once they desert the military, they're on the run for the rest of their lives if they don't want to get caught and live on the down-low living off cash-paid jobs. It's a sad reality and they've all regretted it later but the military life was just that horrible back in the days. -Sergeant Park has tension against Captain Lim because you saw in the first episode that Park didn't get the promotion like he wanted, but in comes this younger and arrogant guy from the CID that is now ordering him to give him direct reports, which only pisses off Park more. -And towards the end when Junho told Choi it's his "girlfriend" on the phone it was a lack of translation, 애인 (ae-in) means "lover" or "your/my love" so he was referring to his mom as his "love"
