I really love how this show accurately reflects the essence of my hometown New Orleans. The city is a huge part of the lore… of these complex characters and that comes across very well. Truly an amazing city. Jacob Anderson has done the best job of coming as close as he possibly could to one of the more common accents found in the city. The accent work of many of the background characters is not accurate. They are more of that typical southern accent that many actors do since they can’t master a New Orleans accent. Totally different ball park than the rest of the south and even northern Louisiana. Southern Louisiana is its own world. New Orleans accents are so HARD to replicate and television and film are notorious for always getting it wrong unless local actors are involved. Seriously, kudos to Jacob Anderson for doing a better job than most. Sam Reid has done a fantastic job with his French accent. I would have believed that he was a native of France. Incredible work and the acting in this series is phenomenal. 10’s across the board. I love this show so much. Thank you guys for reacting to this and great reaction as always! I’m always excited for y’all posts.
