2024-09-21 13:19:08 +0000 UTCThe originals are oh so bad but they’re friends with Stefan the ripper of Monterey who used to wipe out migrant villages and Damon who goes on murder sprees everytime he’s rejected. Oh ok. It wasn’t about “making everyone safer” it was about killing Klaus bc he was a direct threat to Elena. And Matt should care that 2 people he’s known his whole life would die as a result of his actions, I literally said that. And AGAIN, you’re making excuses for a premeditated murder that Matt was a part of. Like just accept that he’s not at innocent as he’s painted. And in the words of Maya from the 100 “NONE OF US ARE INNOCENT”. None of them are innocent but I am focusing on Matt & Rebekah and Rebekah is MUCH LESS of a hypocrite than him & his friends. She’s honest about the terrible things she’s done.

Their scenes in this episode were probably the most entertaining out of everything that was happening. Can't stand Elena scenes this season.

2024-09-21 07:46:08 +0000 UTCI'm aware what self defense means. But people often also talk about it in the case of defending someone else. Which they kind of were, both themselves and others. The originals are the strongest vampires and almost impossible to defeat. By killing them they were keeping everyone safer. Also, why should Matt give a crap about the vampires, especially the Salvatores? They killed his sister, turned two of his ex-girlfriends, put everyone he loves in danger/tried to kill everyone he loves etc. I also think Rebekah has a right to hate them after what they have done to her but she's not exactly innocent either. None of them are. Also, she has more of a reason to hate Klaus after he's treated her like carbage her entire life, but they say blood is thicker than water...

They LURED Finn out while he was on a date w/ his long lost love of his life after being locked in a coffin by his siblings for 900 yrs. And yeah sure they have a reason to be pissed at Bex but she killed Elena & almost Matt after (to her knowledge) they murdered 2 of her brothers back to back. The fact that SHE is showing so much compassion towards Matt still atp makes me feel insane especially bc of the way the other characters show her ZERO compassion. Even after seeing how Klaus treats her & knowing what they’ve ALL done to each other. Rebekah is imo more “pure” than Matt. The only person she can’t sympathize w/ is Elena bc she hates the very idea of her + she stabbed her in the back metaphorically & physically. But she was still even able to be nice to Caroline who she hates (end of s3). Like Rebekah has a lot of reasons to hate them too. ALSO I just remembered. MATT (Jer helped) is the one who came up w/ the freaking idea to give Ric the location of Klaus’ coffin. So he essentially condemned Tyler & Caroline to die (Salvatore’s he wouldn’t care) & thousands of vamps to death….also taking away Elena’s agency & deciding her life for her and ultimately leading to her death SO there’s also that too if you want to talk specifics

Most pure & innocent ppl choose the route of nonviolence. Didn’t Matt kill Klaus’ male witch Maddox with ZERO hesitation in s2 after basically just finding out about vamps??? He has a couple bodies atp. Like PLS the guy is not the pure & innocent guy you’re trying to paint him as.

I meant that Finn helped their mother attempt to kill his siblings SO it kinda makes sense that Rebekah didn’t care about Matt’s part in it but also it DOESNT bc regardless Rebekah loves her brothers & doesn’t take slights against her family EVEN when she’s against them so for her to NOT EVEN throw that back in his face like “well you killed my brother so can’t we just forgive & forget”?

Which is why I stand on her wanting to pick Damon. IMO all that leads up to after the night of her death is how much her feelings were for Damon and why she cant control the outcome of pushing those feelings aside.

You can definitely hear their accents come through at times, especially Phoebe's. Fun fact 2: Phoebe and Paul Wesley (Stefan) dated for 4 years after meeting on the show. At this point he was divorced from Torrey DeVitto (Meredith). Nina and Ian were still together but personally I didn't feel their chemistry as much as the earlier seasons. Also, the blood sharing being personal is just between vampires (otherwise it would be tricky for the vampires that feed on people all the time lol). And I assume Matt is not on vervain because Elena is feeding on him.

2024-09-21 02:52:12 +0000 UTCSide note but I also found it interesting that Stefan and Haley dated in real life after he was married to Dr.Meredith Fell but he rarely had any scenes with them … same with klaus and his wife who was abbey (Bonnie’s mom) but Haley ended up being one of my favorite characters so I’m really excited for future reactions and if I’m not mistaken it would be this season or next that kicks off The Originals hopefully you guys get into that too.. I honestly think from the TVD reactions the originals would be more enjoyable for you guys to react to
