He always encouraged Vampires to be vampires which was the reason he was always necessary to those around him. Yh he was out of line by dancing with his brothers girlfriend, but Damon has always defined himself as selfish, Stefan is not acception to that as he’s displayed multiple times. You’d only forget that if you remember selectively.

Though be careful with spoilers, even if it's just something like this 😉 But yeah, I think I would have continued to like Delena more if it wasn't so blatantly obvious what the writers were doing. Kevin Williamson's absense is very clear at this point. Not to say he did everything right but imo the show was at its peak when he was part of the writing team (S1- 2 and first ep of S3). I also don't think he was racist or disrespectful towards Kat like Julie and Caroline were.

2024-09-23 05:51:43 +0000 UTCAgree looking from afar as a delena fan, the dancing is so wrong for Stefan and Stefan being HIS BROTHER. We know by now in s4 Damon doesn't care that it's Stefan's girlfriend which shows the writers forgetting that in s3 many moments they wrote Damon helping Elena to not give up on Stefan and the necklace to bring her hope about their relationship. The writers forgot that they agreed to respect her decision at the end. It's so annoying when writers forget their previous seasons. Agree she didn't have to feed on everyone, I think behind the scenes based on the info we know that they haven't gotten to yet, Elena wasn't feeding on everyone willingly. Klaus is fun to watch as most villain characters are which is why I dont hate Damon, they also both have moments of clarity or emotional moments that show they feel but dont wanna show they feel, which is intriguing to me. S6 I dont like the villain, fun to watch yes but as qualities, there's only 1 dimension, no emotions. So that person isn't as intriguing as Damon and Klaus to me as I feel Damon and Klaus have more qualities than just killing, yk what I mean?

Yes she was an innocent closed off human but the minute she learned the supernatural life, she's made some pretty reckless decisions. Undaggering Elijah behind their back, daggering Becca, meeting with Esther despite the brothers saying no, talking to Elijah without her phone, saving Matt over self meaning Jeremy being alone, Jeremy compelled multiple times etc. So it doesn't shock me at all how reckless and free she is as a vampire. Does she put herself first more? yes, why because she finally can as she grew from not caring about everyone's judgements. Does she make more decisions for herself? Yes. As she finally can feel like she can protect herself with her own strength and power. She's really not that different to me. She's more fun and thats because she can finally relax as a vampire because she's not automatically a weak human in danger. She can breathe and live a little. Is Damon a bad influence, yes lol doesn't mean he doesn't bring out the fun in her but you can have fun and be responsible too. This scene you can argue they are as they aren't ripping heads off or you can agree they aren't as they fed on more than one person when the plan was originally one person feed and erase then leave. It's all interpretation. I will always love Elena, every character on this show has annoying moments. I will stand on bonnie being the best as she will do anything for anyone she loves. She also will always deserve better.

Of course it's better that Elena isn't killing anyone so she does have some self-control but she still didn't have to feed on everyone there and dance with Damon like that when she's DATING HIS BROTHER. And I'm not even saying that change in itself is a bad thing. Caroline changed drastically when she became a vampire but she didn't become a completely different person, she just started to show another side of herself to people. And even though she killed Elena and has done other things I don't like, I feel sorry for Rebekah. I actually like Klaus most of the time (not that I agree with all his actions but he's entertaining and fun to watch) but I hate the way he treats Rebekah.

Besides that with the context we have, we did see Elena be a reckless human by making decisions like in s2 sneaking out to go to the ball when her friends had a plan to protect her, waking up Elijah, stabbing Becca, going to Esther in s3 when the brothers wanted to protect her, choosing Matt over herself even if that means Jeremy is alone. Being a vamp def enhanced her recklessness and the choice to be free with the will power of her own decisions, Damon is 100% a bad influence agree, we do know why it's worse though.I do see what you mean on acting out of control but you mentioned Damon is trying to have her control herself basically not be a ripper. She's being able to feed on not just one but multiple without ripping heads off. Even tho that wasn't the plan, she's learning self control with feed and erase. Overall it's gross for anyone to be a vampire and do this to innocent people EXCEPT the guy who tried to roofie that girl in the party. Bonnie 100% has the right to judge, I agree too. Idk why ppl expect her to be oaky right away with Elena being a vampire, Caroline is able to cuz she came to terms with herself but bonnie is reacting the same way she did when care became one, Anyone would react the same as someone you knew for years is now different and going against everything you stand for. I agree even as a delena fan that the writers were pushing hard as Julie and Caroline dries are delena fans but as someone who liked stelena in s1-2 I wish they didn't change too much of Elena for Damon but some may say this is her true self as she always felt guarded and limited to what she could be or do. Maybe this is the real Elena, free and wild with morals but lack of self awareness. The treatment on Becca is so sad, honestly wish Becca and bonnie formed a friendship because they both get wronged so many times but Julie racist self hates bonnie so that would've never happened. I have so much opinions on Klaus, he annoys me with how he treats family esp Becca whos always been there for him. All your points are so valid.

And yeah like Klaus said Rebekah is so easily fooled & he uses that against her every time smh. Stefan & Klaus did Rebekah SO dusty, I can’t forgive it. And Matt taking the car but not even hearing her out or just being decent to her- is so messed up. Like he killed her brother that is arguably the most innocent of them & was more for humans than even Stefan but SHE has to work overtime to be shown an OUNCE of compassion. Then she gets played by Stefan & Klaus like……Rebekah is one of the most sympathetic characters and it just sucks seeing her get treated so poorly by ALLL the characters… And being that Damon’s actions led to her grams death & he tried to kill her in s1 + horribly abused Caroline at that time too…..I see why Bonnie has such a bad reaction to seeing her bff that she grew up with, act like Damon. Witches are kinda also predisposed to hate vampires but she’s constantly fighting her nature to accept her friends but this to her, was going too far. I get Elena was having fun & she should be allowed to revel in being a vampire like Damon said. I don’t disagree with him completely but to Bonnie it was jarring. Like she reacted badly when she saw Caroline feeding (& killing) in s1 but since she’s been a model vampire. So she probably expected the same from Elena but of course that’s unrealistic bc you never know how it’s gonna go w/ baby vamps and tbh Elena is doing pretty good considering. The writers wrote her as so hopeless & I just don’t see that besides her whining all the time about being a vamp. She’s shown a good amount of restraint w/ Matt & only doing too much like 1x.

I don't know what it is, their chemistry just feels off to me in S4 (even though Nina and Ian were still dating). I also feel like Damon is a bad influence on Elena. To me this isn't "having fun and letting loose". Like, she was supposed to feed on one person and Damon was supposed to help her control herself but then they go feeding on probably everyone at that party and acting like they're getting high. Of course it's better that Elena isn't killing anyone so she does have some self-control but she still didn't have to feed on so many people, most of whom are probably good people (unlike roofie dude), and dance with Damon like that when she's DATING HIS BROTHER. I agree with Bonnie. She has a right to be judgemental. This is her best friend and she's acting like a different person to the point where she doesn't recognise her anymore. And I'm not even saying that change in itself is a bad thing. Caroline "changed" when she became a vampire but she didn't become a completely different person, she just started to show another side of herself to people. Turning into a vampire doesn't change who you are, it just heightens your emotions. It's pretty clear that at this point the writers were REALLY pushing for Delena, which made me just not interested in them anymore. Even though I was (and am) a Stelena fan first, in S1-3 I actually liked Delena and even loved them in certain moments. Having said that, as a Stefan stan, I hate what he and Klaus did to Rebekah. I understand why he did it and it's even further proof of how much he loves Elena, but I still hate it. I actually like Klaus most of the time (not that I agree with all his actions but he's entertaining and fun to watch) but I hate the way he treats Rebekah. He has always treated her like crap so no surprise, but it still sucks.

She was being judged by Bonnie and she can’t be able to embrace the vampire side of her because of that judgment. She was in control. All she did was feed and then compelled them to go away. Bonnie needs to come to terms and accept elena is a different person now. She is a vampire, and Damon was teaching her the healthy way to feed on others without killing them.

I love the way elena was able to let loose and be free of everyone’s expectations of her. She is actually having fun and Damon brings out that side of her that nobody else sees. The sexual tension between them was on another level during this moment.
