Most fans especially Stelena fans spend so much time hyperfocused on the fact that Stefan is the "Good" brother and the one that "deserves" Elena, even though love isn't something that's deserved, it's just something that happens and can happen with anyone. They spend so much time focused on these things instead of realizing that Stefan himself is growing too and figuring out who he is and this break up, is not only needed for Elena but him as well.

2024-09-29 17:32:28 +0000 UTCthis!! i also think she had already fallen out of love with him at the end of s3, i agree w you. she will always love him but she wasnt IN LOVE with him anymore, it was just hard for her to accept that. stefan has been her safe place for so long and its obviously hard for her to let go of that. especially during such a stressful time, it makes sense to choose whats familiar to you. i think her feelings for damon just became impossible for her to ignore after her transition bc they became that much more heightened, while her feelings for stefan didnt bc she wasnt actually in love with him anymore. it kinda annoys me when ppl claim it was such a sudden switch up, sometimes i feel like ppl dont even try to understand elenas character😭 i guess maybe its bias but like its rlly not that hard to understand if you think ab it for more than 2 seconds

2024-09-28 22:54:52 +0000 UTCAnyone actually watching the show and paying attention to the characters and their stories saw this break up coming a mile away, you would even be able to see it coming even in the S3 Finale when she chose Stefan. It's not a shock or a surprise and that's exactly why Stefan and Elena were even calm during it. A lot of Stelena fans don't want to admit this but Stefan and Elena are not meant to be a forever kind of love. What Stefan and Elena are to each other is the epic love you have that allows you to grow and evolve and figure out who you are and who you want to be through the relationship, but eventually you grow out of it and move on to the next stage of your life, this is true for not only Elena but Stefan as well. That doesn't mean the relationship was horrible or not important, actually it very well could be the most important relationship you have in your life, it just isn't meant to be forever. Also I know it doesn't make sense as to why her feelings for Damon were heightened but not her feelings for Stefan, but to me at least and this is my theory and I know some might disagree but there's nothing in the that disproves this theory to me, I honestly believe that in the S3 finale, even though she chose Stefan, Elena had already fallen out of love for him and being an 18 year old girl, she didn't realize it yet, which is understandable and okay. You know the old saying "If you find yourself in love with two people at the same time, choose the second one because if you really loved the first, you wouldn't have fallen for the second".

He accepts the vampire side of Elena, while everyone still sees that same human girl who was on that bridge. But she’s not that person anymore, and she’s accepted that.

2024-09-28 15:45:55 +0000 UTCyeah i agree with that, my point is that she keeps telling stefan that she's miserable as a vampire, so ofc he would try to do anything in his power to getting the cure, not for his own benefit but to her own. meanwhile with damon she has been actually honest with her feelings about being a vampire and she has more trust with him than with stefan, so he already saw the potential in her and knows that she can survive this, stefan doesn't because she wouldn't give him an opportunity and that is because she's afraid to dissapoint him (she knows that damon will never judge her that's why she feels more safe and free with him) yet still unfair to stefan p.s sorry for my bad english, it's not my first language

I appreciated some of the Delena content in seasons 1-3. Still, the writing is just so bad for Delena this season, and it hurts the integrity of Elena's character and the Stelena relationship lore that had been built in the process.

She’s not that same girl on that bridge, and she’s been trying to fight it. She cares about what her friends think about her, and that’s why she denied that she had fun at that bonnie because of that judgement. Right now she hates it, but i feel like it won’t feel this way forever. She just needs time to adjust into herself.

2024-09-28 14:52:41 +0000 UTCi'm a delena girlie (i would write an essay about them being perfect for each other) yet people are so unfair to stefan, that whole “stefan can't love vampire elena” is total bs, i hate that they tried to make it seem that way when it was elena the one that keeps saying in these episodes that she can't be this way and that she hates it (she literally lied to stefan about the feed party with damon saying that "it was horrible" when she was clearly having fun), stefan was just trying to help her giving what he thought it was the best for her (which is based on what she said to him)

Their bond is so deep and it shows. It’s very poetic that he saved her on the bridge, unlike the last time. He will always be there to save her no matter what.

She had horrific hallucinations of Connor, Katherine and her mother telling her to kill herself, that everything is her fault, and that she is better off dead. It kind is similar to suicidal thoughts and how it can make people think that everyone would be better off without that person around.

She tried to fight her feelings for damon for so long until she couldn’t deny it anymore. Even since her transition, Damon’s been there to help her through it when she needed it the most. She’s basically in love with damon and that her feelings are lessened for Stefan now. She still cares for him, just not in a romantic anymore.

I have to confess that I'm not a fan of the wolves in TVD (even though I had high hopes for Mason because I liked him), I like them in The Originals, but we'll talk about that later. So, like Caroline, I couldn't care less about Chris. I don't think you've noticed guys, but Stelena's break-up was quite significant, Stefan said “I can't do this Elena, not anymore”, it was actually a parallel, remember back in season two when they set up a fake break-up to throw Katherine off their relationship, Stefan said those same words, but said that Elena would hear them as an “I love you”, so Elena would say “Fine Stefan, whatever” and he would hear it as an “I love you too”. However, this time, while Stefan was saying it, Elena answered him with an “I know”. From that point, lives were changed (I'm being dramatic to talk about the fans of stelena and delena, but it's a reality for the characters, in fact the fourth season brings big changes...).

Whatever', what I mean is "I love you too". But she didn't say that which indicates she doesn't love Stefan, at least not like she used to. But that's such BS honestly. Becoming a vampire doesn't change how you feel (or your entire personality), it just heightens your emotions. And you hit the nail on the head! If Elena's feelings for Damon are magnified then so should her feelings for Stefan. It is SO clear they were just finding any excuse for Delena to happen, regardless if it made sense or not. As a Stelena shipper I was open to Delena up until this point. It didn't make any sense and was just lazy writing, pure and simple. And that scene with Tyler and Caroline with Hayley waking up was ridiculous 🤦🏼 But poor Chris. Yet another one who died for precious Elena (btw, I'm usually a defender of Elena so relax lol). Matt again beating the allegations that he is "useless". And not Rob actually defending Stefan, especially after last episode 😆 On a more fun note, Zuff was on a roll during this reaction 🤣 How Rob and Bryce aren't laughing their asses off all the damn time I will never understand 😂😂
