Vampires, however, do not have to rape. Take away all the blood, vampires and murder, you still get a character who rapes women because that's who he is. And people defending such a character reflects the unfortunate reality of rape culture and victim blaming. There are lots of human shows where rape is depicted and those characters are always the villain. Why is Damon exempt just because he's a vampire? 🤣 Yes, Katherine is a rapist too.

It gets tiring. I just wanna come here, watch my fave reactors, watch the show, and be happy for the characters that I like. I usually enjoy antagonists way more, that's pretty much it. Draco Malfoy, Katherine Pierce, Damon Salvatore, Klaus, Aemond Targaryen... People like to bring topics from TV shows to real life, and while do I think that's important and a great opportunity for learning something, it's FICTION. I mean, sometimes emotions get the best out of me and I want to dracarys the shit out of people, but I don't do that irl (mainly bcs I don't have a dragon lol). And I'm saying this because to enjoy antagonists/villains in fiction, apparently makes us bad people - we lack love for life, have twisted minds, and we're not a girl's girl. The truth is - a good portion of the comments it's just about Delena/Stelena. I'd love to read more constructive criticism/analysis of the adults in the show, like Mayor Lockwood, Sheriff Forbes, Professor Shane hanging out with a minor... Analysis of The Originals, the doppelgangers, the lore about Werewolves and Vampires, the humans, gosh, let's talk about the brother's relationship. Let's talk about the Hybrids, how Bekah mourned Klaus... I've seen many comments and one thing it's a fact: TVD fans are super smart! I know it's a free comment section, but for Lord's sake, we know that the audience have a certain opinion over Elena's love life. Bottom line is - no brother is good for her. She was human. They've been vampires for over a century. Being involved with vampires and other mystic creatures led her straight to her death. It could've happened either way bcs she's a doppelganger? Sure. But point is - vampires are a predatory species. It wasn't safe for her from DAY ONE. But hey - it's fiction, right? Whenever I see a Stefan fan saying something, I don't go to them and make passive-agressive comments about their faves. They can enjoy the show however they want, more power to them. But PLEASE, leave me and my villains alone in the corner, we doing just FINE.

They are not very similar besides the fact they tell everyone they are awful and then they are actually awful. Klaus is worse? Yes, he also lived much longer and found his consciousness/hope much later. And in my opinion Klaus arch is much more interesting than Damon's. My only reason to not ship him with Caroline is bc she deserved an epic love through centuries. Like Ysabeau and Philippe de Clermont had in A Discovery of Witches.

What pisses me off the most is when they said he raped Caroline when we all know that’s not true. Abused yes, but not rape. It's crazy to me how people can get so offensive over a tv show but also I do not undertsand this group of people within in the fandom that contsantly feel they need to mention Caroline and her hatred (in the beginning/most of the show lol) for Damon. I mean I for one was always so irritated not that she liked Klaus and slept with him but that she contantly b**** at, critized and judged Elena for wanting to be with Damon. It is hypocritical and one of the reasons why Caroline is my least fav character just because of how judgemental and whinny she is but I digress. I mean all of them have done terrible things. Remember in the pilot when Tyler was going to rape Vicky (but thankfully Jeremy was there)? It's just a show. Granted some characters were given better story lines and character arcs than others but overall I thibk the writers of the show tried to make Stefan and Damon and Klaus relatable and likable. I am slightly biased because Damon is one of my favorite characters but I love his relationship with Elena. I personally do not feel Damon is a villian, he has just made some bad decisons and so has Stefan, and many others, this is getting long ha. Damon certainly is a better person than Klause (I am looking at you - those who love Caroline & hate Damon). I mean the writers decided to change Damon's character (obviously when the show first stared they wrote him as an antagonist but they changed their minds), but again going by this logic Klaus was originally written as a villian and then things changed (don't want to give anything away) so we shouldn't be so harsh on Damon I guess is my point. And also it's a show so we should respect everyone and just have fun.

It did annoy me but I do understand why because even tho Elena is her best friend of many years, Stefan is also a close friend if not more of a friend to Caroline than others. I get why she would tell him the truth esp since she's team Stefan and 100% thinks hes the better man. Stefan and Caroline are similar In my opinion, I also think sometimes he keeps her grounded when she spirals, he understands her best and like I said before hes been there for her better than her other friends. Their dynamic is strong which is why she would tell him everything. IMO she is the only one who truly respects Stefan, she's also the only one who treats him the best and the only one he can fully be himself to. What makes the scene annoying is because the writers had to throw klaroline in there s3 - s4 and I still stand by that ship being so unnecessary and has no point to the series other than fan service. I stand by Caroline would never go for someone like Klaus willingly but they wanted to give another version of delena for Caroline. Caroline hates damon for many VALID reasons but besides him abusing her (which btw Klaus abused Elena in terms of hitting her, draining her, hunting her/family/friends down etc), him as a person is a big factor which is why I dont believe she'd be interested in Klaus who is similar to Damon. Esp Caroline knows her worth now and would never backtrack to someone like Klaus. So in a scene like her convo with Stefan it comes off judgey and hypocritical because she is entertaining someone who is just as bad or some can say worse than Damon.

We have s1-2 when he was with Elena and he still helped so thats not true. 2024-09-30 10:43:47 +0000 UTCi think it was bound to happen after fighting their feelings for so long. maybe it can seem a little too soon but if we're being real stelena already ended a long time ago, the breakup was just a formality because stefan himself already said to her that “he lost her the minute he left town” in 3x11, they tried the relationship again because they love each other (and always will) yet it wasn't enough i would be mad if this happened in s2 or even s3, s4 was the right time because delena's story is very well written (that's why i really dislike the sirebond plot, even though it has an explanation)

Anyway, just to be clear: Being sired to someone only changes the way you act, not the way you feel. Honestly, I was both glad and angry when it was revealed. I was glad because it explained Elena's behaviour after she became a vampire, especially towards Damon. I was upset that after 3 seasons of buildup, they decided to make it happen like this. It seems to me like the writers were so desperate for Delena to happen and they knew Stelena shippers would be upset so they had to find a logical explanation as to why Elena was acting the way she was. Even the hardcore Stelena shippers knew she genuinely had feelings for Damon, so it's not like this completely changed the way she felt. But it's the way it happened and the fact that it happened so fast. I get why Delena shippers are pissed about their first time being interrupted by Caroline and Stefan. But I was more upset with the fact that Elena and Stefan literally broke up LAST EPISODE and now she is having sex with Damon?! Which doesn't make any sense if the writers were trying to be considerate of Stelena shippers btw. I don't know how long it usually is in their world between episodes but it can't be more than a week. It is so disrespectful to Stefan and Stelena to have her have sex with his brother THE VERY NEXT EPISODE. And I know Stefan was being a dick, making Jeremy kill this dude to finish the Hunter's mark so Elena could get the cure, but he still didn't deserve that (btw, the bias against Stefan is annoying but I appreciate you at least acknowledge that Damon did pursue his girlfriend lol). This is where the writers absolutely lost me. On a lighter note, Matt keeps being the King he is and Klaus & Caroline... say what you want, since Klaus is 1000 times worse than Damon and Caroline is being a hypocrite (like y'all are saying in the comments, her feelings towards Damon are valid but ignoring all the shit Klaus has done is not) but the chemistry between Candice and Joseph is 🔥🔥 Fun fact: Gabby Douglas, Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics appears in this episode (as one of the attendees messing with the floral arrangements), which aired several months after the Olympics.

2024-09-30 02:24:07 +0000 UTCcaroline being super judgy with elena has never sit right with me, i understand her reasons of not liking damon (i really do), yet she's all smiley with the man that literally killed her friend lmao 😭 because klaus indeed killed elena, i always see comments about “klaus killed her friend's aunt” yet never saw a comment saying that he killed her friend because if damon didn't feed her his blood of if john never sacrificed himself for her, elena would be dead. even if we don't count that, klaus was a big factor in the stelena breakup, caroline adores stefan and she knows that klaus made his life a living hell yet she's spending time with him talking about hummingbirds and at the same time making her friend feel bad and guilt tripping her into going back with stefan
