I believe they were doing table reads when the pandemic hit. So the script would have likely been mostly done at least a draft of it. I wish they would put the script out so we could at least know what happens next.

I'd love it if you guys at some point in the future reacted to Julie and the Phantoms. It also got cancelled after the first season and was directed by Kenny Ortega (hsm, etc.), so everyone including the cast was similarly shocked when it didn't get renewed because it also won 6 awards including Daytime Emmys.

i watched this show when it first came out & it has been so fun watching the cast move on and do their own projects since the main cast are generally very talented people :)

ryan - still a very brilliant show. there are hundreds of shows these days that have been cancelled by streaming services. doesn’t mean the casts and crews didn’t make some amazing shows that we should ignore just because netflix or whatever didn’t think they were good enough.

I think what sucked the most about this show getting canceled is it originally got renewed by netflix and they were like a month away from filming the second season when it got cancelled so everyone got their hopes up just for nothing but it’s an amazing show nonetheless!

There are a lot of short-lived shows I've watched over the years that have ended on a cliffhanger and I enjoyed the experience anyway: EZ Streets and Carnivale are two of them.

ahhh i’m so excited! so this originally did get renewed and then cancelled due to the pandemic ): although the creator of the show said in an article by variety that he still wants to find a way to make the 2nd season happen!

Loved this show so bad. The pandemic ruined it 😭 It was initially renewed then got shelved during covid so Netflix could focus on their bigger shows(ST etc)
