Love and Basketball is such a beautiful film and artistically, it’s such a great journey full of wonderful cinematic choices to tell a story that’s unique for the time. Very timeless and not structured like the typical romance film. The guys would love it so hopefully one day soon it wins.

You just want to sit in your comfort. What’s worse about it is you’re trying to censor other people in order to maintain it. That’s not happening. I'd also be upset if my favorite movie/show is always on the list but never wins (has happened before lol), but damn, people are kinda exaggerating. It's not like it's the same 50 people who keep voting for all "white romcoms." I'm not much of a movie buff, so I rarely vote on those polls. I do hope every movie on this list gets their win. The comments are looking like Twitter fanwars though lol

The undeniable fact is that the overwhelming majority of romances have portrayed two white people falling in love. There's a bias towards those films, which have become the favorite of many (including myself). I didn't perceive the original comment as an attack or an offense. You should ask yourself why you were so bothered by it.

I’ve yet to actually see L&B, but as much as I love 27 Dresses (and the fact that James Marsden finally got his due by playing the lead romantic interest), it’s a pretty typical romcom and it would be great to see more diversity and variety in the romance genre.
