the scene in the diner is full of famous broadway actors and the song is like a counterpart so Sondheims song "Sunday" from Sunday in the Park with George - just in case you didn't catch it if you're not familiar with Sondheim musicals :)

2024-11-20 02:18:10 +0000 UTCi think a lot of people want DARK but I don't think the community they have around them are into those kinds of shows sadly. they've had it in polls and it just gets demolished by shows like heartstoppers and heart break high. same thing with the movies. im sure people enjoy these things but there really are just better options on most polls that win

2024-11-19 10:45:42 +0000 UTCI can't even imagine the fear Michael had when he was diagnosed. I was diagnosed with HIV in 2017, and even with all the advancements in medicine, I was still terrified. Everything they showed with how he reacted felt like a play by play of what happened to me. Just numb after I was told not really hearing what anyone was saying (and then since I was in the military, they had to brief me by senior enlisted and officers of how I was allowed to have sex now). I tried going to work the next day and just randomly broke down in the middle of the office. That scene where Jon shows up at Mike's apartment soaking wet just absolutely shreds me every time and makes my breath kinda hitch. Also the music in this? Oh my god it is so fucking good. Still have this soundtrack playing every now and then.

2024-11-19 06:51:20 +0000 UTCOne of my absolute favorite musicals to come out in the last ten years! Andrew deserved the Oscar nom he got for this. Also, yes, Stephen Sondheim is a legendary Broadway figure. You probably know a lot of his work without realizing (West Side Story, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods)! The final voicemail of Sondheim telling Jonathan to keep going was actually his voice! He sadly passed back in 2021, just weeks after the movie was released.

Thank you guys for making sure that was in there. I loved rewatching this with y'all. I'm so glad it finally made it to the channel.
