Yorica Region Outline [WIP] (Part 1)

Surprise! We're planning a region map too!! I originally wasn't even going to do one, but I got convinced lmao.

So I've been going on and on about Yorica being based on California (+ bits of Nevada and Arizona), but now I can actually SHOW that lol. I'll be giving a brief rundown on the region so far! First off, the region is organized into several sections - Northern Yorica, Central Yorica, Southern Yorica, and the Great Yorican Desert - but today we start with the North!

Northern Yorica



Based on Northern California, the beginning of your journey will see scenic views through cozy nature preserves, redwood forests, lots of campsite rest stops, research facilities, and cities with history. Prepare for cool temperatures, misty skies and fog, with occasional light rain. Some notable locations:

1. The starting town - a lively lakeside rural town with a "summer camp in a teen horror movie" vibe!

3. Socranto - a quiet city with lots of history, the heart of the Yorica Gold Rush in old times.

5. San Piscasco - an expansive high-tech city, the central hub where all the region's engineers and scientists gather to develop the latest gadgets. (Maybe even something related to the region's battle gimmick too, hint hint 👀) Some destinations in the city are the gym (an observatory headed by an astronaut gym leader) and Professor Redwood's research lab!

B. Campgrounds route - A cozy hiking trail and campsite nested in the redwood forests. This would be the first route the player would visit.

E. Abandoned gold mines - A common tourist destination, parts of the mine tunnels from the gold rush days have been maintained and opened for tours. There's also a sections of the mine that go far deeper underground, but they are closed to the public. Kids in the area love to spread dubious ghost stories relating to the mines. Maybe that's up to the player to investigate?

I. Silver Streak Bridge (tentative name): A busy bridge that connects north, central, and south together. A famous icon of Northern Yorica! An unsubtle Golden Gate Bridge reference!
