The idea for this started as I was thinking about the ecosystem of Megalopolis and how plants may have adapted. This lead me to research plants that can live without sunlight, which brought me to Monotropa uniflora, also called the ghost pipe, a parasitic plant that leeches off of mycorrhizal fungi for sustenance instead of photosynthesizing. They don't even have chlorophyll for photosynthesis, hence their white color.
I thought it would be fun to apply that to the most sun-themed plant Pokemon I could think of, and here we are! Fun fact, this idea started as the Grass-type starter, but I still wanted the starter to be green to go with the color theming, so I recycled the idea for this instead!
You may also notice that there's another evolution listed in the document... That's still a work-in-progress at the moment, but I think I'll post some peeks at it for $5 Patrons soon!
