Anderssen was born in the Canadian region of Ontario , into a family with Lebanese descent. She began her journey in the adult film industry very soon by responding to an advertisement looking for actresses for some scenes. After facing several problems at customs, which denied her a visa to travel to the United States and try her luck in the prolific American industry, Anderssen moved to London, where she obtained a contract with the company Bluebird Films, under the name Amy Azurra . It was at this stage that Amy underwent the first of the five breast augmentation surgeries she has had.
