also about the speaking spanish bit, i’m cuban-french and even tho spanish is my native language and i used to speak it perfectly i now make dumb errors that hispanics hear right away. They usually just correct me but sometimes and especially in the work field it can make you lose credibility in their eyes. There her whole brand is being mexican-american and I think the dad might be overthinking it because *he* went through some issues and he’s worried for his princess haha also off topic but I’m very pleasantly surprised by JLo, at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about her being casted it kinda felt like they just got the first latina they thought about but she’s actually really good both with the singing of course but also the acting, she really honored selena and her hispanic heritage with this one 🤍
