Bridge to Terabithia (2007) - Movie Night Reaction #149 *2-WEEK* EARLY ACCESS

Comments

I was doing so well, I got up to Jess going to the museum and deciding to not invite Leslie, and I knew what was coming, I've seen this before and I read the book as a child, and oh my god I still was not ready for how hard I cried at the end. The part that really got me was Jess coming down to breakfast the morning after and seemingly has forgotten, but his whole family is walking on eggshells around him. OOF this ending is BRUTAL.

JC

The music in this movie was iconic

Olivia

Took me 3 days to finish this reaction. I kept crying because I know how it ends.

NellaK

I was in 7th grade when this came out. It took me a while to actually watch it because everyone talked about how sad it was.

Sarah Elizabeth

not the lovely bones reference lmao!!!

Franchesca Giglio

To this day i still cry about leslie💔

Hannah

this movie traumatized me as a child and my teacher once made us watch this in class i was SUFFERING

j-l

Lol, I'm with this same energy

Yasmine mixon

To go along with what Rob said, movies/stories are crucial in helping kids understand how the world works. Every generation needs a movie like this. For us olds, it was My Girl.

EEK13

Oh god my HEART

Bel Pop

The fact that y’all are laughing in the cover photo of this movie makes me feel so uneasy

Carley

This movie touched me in so many ways. I'm so glad we got to watch it together.

David C Witkin

I saw this in theaters and had to use the bathroom during but I went during *that part* unknowingly and when I came back everyone was crying (I was confused as to what happened) and then I figured out what I missed. Since then I have vowed to not go to the bathroom during a movie again and I still haven’t to this day lol

Everything Rob said at the end was beautiful and made me think of reading this book and watching this movie when I was younger and how much it did impact how I viewed death. This movie and book once you've seen it really stick with you. I dont cry very easy but this one got me today for sure.

Liz Kramer

I read this in junior high wayyyy before the movie came out and our entire class was devastated. I can't imagine if the movie had been a thing when we read it, I don't think I would have been able to handle it. Those novels we had to read in school were FUCKED up.

Mallory

will not be rewatching this one with ya’ll because I choose peace today

Dorry

crying... but also bailee madison is such a star in everything shes in

Laney Tapia

Just when I think I've got it together Rob goes and cries and makes that sad face with his lower lip and I am right back where I started :'(

IAmom

i watched this movie every week as a child. it was comforting to me. yes sad but also a fantasy land that makes u believe

tess

I didn't notice it!

Heida

I don’t if anyone else noticed it but the song, Keep Your Mind Wide Open, was also playing in the background when Jess was playing with the race track he got for his birthday.

Nikki

I can’t remember which one made me cry first, this or titanic, but it was one of them. Lol. Also, I haven’t thought of this in a long time but watching this made me remember that this movie, Leslie’s character specifically, kind of inspired me to be a writer. So this is a special one for me.

Nikki

Okay so I’m bawling

Becca Elizabeth

This movie traumatized me as a child, I remember it so vividly

NellaK

Our teachers face when it happened😭 SHE WAS MORTIFIED 😂

Makayla Brown

OMG I SHARED THE SAME EXPERIENCE, teacher put on a movie for last day before summer and it was thisss, it was a first time watch for me, half of the class including myself was crying our eyes out.

dann

“Bridge to tear my heart out”

JasmynTaylah

ill never forgive my fourth grade teacher for putting this movie on after we finished testing😭 Every single kid INCLUDING ME was bawling our eyes out. We all promised to play with every single kid at recess 😂

Makayla Brown

lolll i feel like the thesis of this channel is rob saying he's already seen everything 😭😭😭

Macyn Chappell

I worked at a movie theater when this film came out (I was 14, it was my first job). We had to put a sign out warning parents about what occurred in the film. Disney did people dirty not putting anything in the preview. I mean they could’ve just said “a child learns to deal with friendship, family, new love, and loss.” That wouldn’t have been specific at all- but nope, they made it look like a happy movie. People with kindergartners came out LIVID. So we hung a little sign. 😂

Joshua Coldwater

I have hated this movie for like 20 years because I saw it as a child and was forever traumatized. Great to watch it again!

Elleanor Hansen

This movie never fails to make me cry 💔😭 But always good to be reminded just what a phenomenal child actor Josh Hutcherson was! He was also great in Zathura and Journey to the Center of the Earth. AnnaSophia Robb WAS in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, she played Violet. Fun fact: She sings a song in the ending credits called Keep Your Mind Wide Open. But yeah, the teacher thing is a bit weird and mainly because, if you flipped the genders, most people would have an obvious reaction to that, but somehow it doesn't feel as creepy here? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Heida

Me tooooo! 😁

Taltal

bateman bookworm
