It’s not explained blatantly but when you think about what vampirism is… it’s keeping you alive. The magic rejuvenates the parts of their body that is damned by injury. Liz’s own body is attacking itself. So, the vampire blood is going to rejuvenate those aggressive cancer cells and make them stronger and multiply quicker. Same as it does for healing a cut for them. But unlike a cut, there are more than one kind of cell being amplified here. It mirrors what is going on with Kai/Jo and Liv/Luke. One is stronger and will ultimately consume the weaker.

2025-01-25 22:53:49 +0000 UTCpoor luke 🥹 he's not very liked among the fandom especially after breaking the other side's spell in S5 finale, yet if we looked in retrospective all of the things he'd done was for liv, he was only protecting his sister's life, the same thing that elena would've done for jeremy or stefan would've done for damon, so could we really blame him for putting his sister's life before the lives of a bunch of strangers? he didn't deserve to end like this, is sad

2025-01-25 04:46:28 +0000 UTCEveryone in the show was SEVERELY underestimating Kai’s power. He may have been powerless in the prison world but he spent like 2 decades there trying to find a way out. Who knows how much magic he studied in that time? Not to mention the mental fortitude. If anything, the prison world made him unbeatable.

The worst thing is that even though Luke is the strongest of the bunch, he never stood a chance against Kai, none of them. Literally, a siphon witch who absorbs magic from everything that has magic is almost invincible. Imagine Liv's pain, losing her other half, the person who spent her whole life by her side, it's cruel. Gemini coven and their rules are cruel.

2025-01-25 02:05:30 +0000 UTCJo really should’ve let Rick shoot Kai….(but I am glad she didn’t lol) Her getting angry with Damon for letting Kai out always seemed unfair to me. Yes, Damon did wake him up from the “medically induced” coma she put him in, but realistically speaking, Jo was never going to beat Kai. No one was going to beat him. The only way of beating Kai was to ensure that he didn’t merge. She couldn’t keep Kai on ice forever. The merge had to happen. Otherwise, their coven would die.
