2025-01-25 04:10:52 +0000 UTCI agree that Kimberly made some misguided decisions at the end of the episode, but I also don't think she made them just because of a guy. She has always been a character who fights for social justice and she was already going to protest before she met him ( and before her prof discouraged her). Also, I think it is important to note that even though she went about it the wrong way, she is right to fight against bigotry, racism, and misogyny.....especially when institutions that should be fighting against it ( like Essex) are allowing it to happen.

2025-01-25 03:18:17 +0000 UTCThis may be an unpopular opinion but I think that it was important for Kacey's story/arc/growth that her and Cooper broke up (it didn't have to be exactly like that but I think it worked). For me the show is about the girls growing up, changing, and trying to mature, not about their relationships (though I do wish some of them were more fleshed out/lasted longer). They take steps forward and also make mistakes and have failures that set them back. For Kacey, we see how her and her family based her entire life and self worth around the guy she is with. She starts dating her first boyfriend and everything becomes about him. He's the only thing her mom asks her about or cares about. She transfers schools to be with him. Then when they break up she immediately gets a new boyfriend and goes all in on Cooper becoming obsessive about him in a borderline unhealthy way. I think them breaking up and Kacey finding the inner strength and confidence to stand on her own without a man is essential to her growth. If there is a fourth season I hope they keep Kacey single or just have her casually date. She needs time away from serious relationships to learn how to be herself outside of one. Loved that last scene with her and I hope we see it progress from there next season.

2025-01-25 03:10:12 +0000 UTCI’m so proud of Bela and I’m also so pissed with what they did to Cooper’s character this ep. He felt like a completely different person. Like to be so patient with Kasey at the beginning to how he acted and to break up with her like that makes no sense to me. I also feel like it doesn’t fair well for a season renewal for them when they break up one of the strongest seeming couples in the show. the decisions this season were very odd and you could definitely tell they were scrambling with storylines after Renee’s departure.
