I don't want to talk about future episodes so as not to ruin the boys' experience, but after the 7th season is over, we'll talk. And yes, Damon's priorities have always been and will always be Elena and Stefan, because he always says so himself, he's selfish. I'm not saying he doesn't love Bonnie, Alaric and Rose. More than that he would step over anyone for Elena and Stefan, he would do that, and you know that.

She was abused most of her human life, was forced to leave her children in an abusive home bc she would just end up killing them, and then while vulnerable fell into yet another abusive relationship. Except, because Julian isn’t physically abusive, his coercive control and emotional abuse is harder for Lily to spot. She’s yet to have an opportunity to figure who she is or who she wants to be because abusive men keep using physical violence or manipulation to control her.
