Happy season 7 everyone! It’s really Bonnie season! Miss my girl Elena already. But it does get easier eventually. Season 7 is honestly not a bad season has so many good moments that I absolutely love!!

As I’ve stated several times throughout this long rewatch, Elena is my favorite character from the show. That being said, I do not share the same sentiment as the rest of the fandom that this season is horrible. Elena’s absence definitely impacted the show, but S7 had a lot of good in it. The problem is that all of the things that are good about this season imo are related to Bonnie. Her massive increase in screen time and her several storylines really are the defining moment that make S7 watchable. Without her, the season then becomes very lackluster. I do also appreciate that this season tried to be different and mix things up with the fast forwards, the new love stories, and character dynamics. I thought a lot of it was fun, it just needed something to tie it all together

this season is always weird to me because I feel like our heroes sort of jumped to the worst possible scenario a bit too fast lol. Like they tried to blow up and kill all the heretics after they got revenge on two people who more or less "hit and killed" one of them. Which yeah, it's bad because they're supernatural but the two humans that hit Valerie and left her obviously didnt know that. I feel like had Stefan and Caroline just went and talked to the Heretics they could have avoided majority of this.

That's why I say the writers didn't know how to take advantage of Bonnie's potential, we're only in the first episode and they already planned to take away her magic again. They only got to give the witches their full potential in The Originals, which is why it seems like they are more powerful, but in fact Bonnie is more powerful than many of the witches in The Originals. And the director herself accepted this.

So I wanted to make it clear that Bonnie is the most powerful witch in the series, she beats Kai, Sheila Bennet and even Silas who, as you can see, defeated her using Expression Magic (season 4). She is strong enough to go head to head with a Heretic and if they gave the true value to a character this would be clearer, as we saw her go head to head with kai in the last episode who is also a Heretic. She is then not shown to be stronger because the writers didn't like Kat, and Bonnie lost her Magic throughout the season. So I just wanted to make this clear because I saw you guys saying in some episode that Kai was the most powerful wizard, and I forgot to mention it. And people come and say things, Julie Plec, the writer of the series, said that Bonnie is as powerful as Freya, the witch from The Originals, assuming that she was wrong in taking away so much potential from Bonnie. Anyway, as the episodes go by I will comment more on Bonnie's magic.

I always find it hard to get through this season because of Elena’s absence. It’s gotten easier over the years, but it doesn’t feel the same without her.

One of the good things about this season is that there's action and twists throughout the season, you're going to love it, and I repeat, it's just a little strange because it doesn't have Elena, but for me it's good because it has new stories. It's in my top 3 seasons.
