It’s just war these few episodes left 😭

Sumaya

And definitely so fine!! 😂

Salma

You forgot FINE !!

Rough episode. Them killing 2 long time series regulars back to back was really jarring to me but it did make for good tv After this not only did my opinions of both Elijah and freya dip slightly but I was also up for whatever Marcel or even Kol felt like doing (to them not to innocent people) I mean Davina was his daughter and he probably had near as much love as Klaus and them did for hope and they would never forgive Marcel if he did that. And this solidifies that they really just don’t care about kol at all. They act like they do but they constantly prove or do things that are negative to him and rarely apologize for it

CEEKAY

not sure if its an unpopular opinion but I prefer to > tvd

this is so true, like some TO fans despise marcel and davina but when you asked them why, they pretty much say that "they're annoying for actually stand up for themselves and not let the mikaelsons do whatever they want with them", like ofc we all like the mikaelsons, the show is about them, yet we have to understand that this is a show where the main characters are the villains, like we as viewers still like them because we have seen the good in them, yet in all of the 1000 years they have lived they had done AWFUL things to so many people that they deserve to have millions waiting to take revenge, now most of these people are antagonists in my eyes not villains, like the whole mystic falls gang are antagonists in the mikaelson's pov, like damn they have killed finn and kol, they brought mikael to life, daggered and manipulated rebekah multiple times, tried to kill klaus and so many other things, that make them villains? i don't think so, they were just giving back the same treatement that the mikaelsons gave to them, so why other ones that have stand up against the mikaelsons are called that?

Melanie

Can't wait for the next one!!!

Isa Merigold

davina's crying kills me 😭 her actress does such a good job especially in this ep also marcel is SOOOO valid for wanting any type of revenge i love the mikaelsons but that was so dirty

So, since most comments here agree that Elijah and Freya did a Very Fucked Thing (undebatable), I won't repeat the obvious. Instead, I'll go the pretentious route: I think the sacrifice of Davina is this show's way of illustrating what aspects of TO's premise we take for granted. I think S3 is a self-aware exploration of the cost of "Always And Forever", and the family's toxic loyalty. Like yeah, if I remove my fan hat and look at the characters, it's just a powerful family that wreaks havoc and does whatever they determine is right for their survival (and even comfort). So why does it hurt so much this time? (Obviously, it's because we know Davina too, she's a key character. I'm just making a point about why it's so rare for the writers to make us feel this shitty for rooting for the siblings. How many other Davina's have suffered for the sake of "Always And Forever", but were disregarded by us because they're not in the "safe because I like them" ring in the audience's imagination?) The answer is easy: as our protagonists, the siblings have to retain a level of likability (or at the very least, have understandable motives). So if a situation arises that would threaten this balance, the Hand Of God (i.e.: the writing, through a form of plot armor) shields us from this likeability balance being tipped. So I think this episode is a rare example of the interesting story development one can achieve by making their anti-hero protagonists do something beyond the scope of their normal/expected evil levels haha (which I see as a form of breaking the fourth wall, at least premise-wise). But yeah, those are my two cents on the narrative and thematic genius of this episode's (and the following episodes') events. I'm now realizing I have a whole Lit paper in me about this show, but sleep is calling me lol.

OMG, everyone this episode was ACTIIIINNGGG! Like, rent was due, past, elapsed, forgone but unforgotten, all of it... "You just as much of a bloodsucker as the rest of them." Especially with that whispery delivery by Yusuf (Vincent). And every single second of Charles' (Marcel) monologue at the end. *chef's kiss* Plus the top tier music choice too. Urgh, I love (and hate to love) S3 so much.

ijbol

this episode and the next two episodes really sealed the deal on y this season is a fan favorite

Aisha Abdi

I hate Freya and Elijah's decision so much

Romane Sébilo

Marcel is literally all 3 family a friend and now a foe!

Salma

He has always been by their side like Marcel said he did everything for them and they pull this sh*t on him? 😭 Marcel literally lost his daughter! Davina was basically his kid! I will forever be on Marcel side. Going forward idc what he does! Freya and Elijah were so cruel this episode….Davina’s scream…oh gosh my heart! Marcel didn’t even get to fully say I love you back. He protected that girl, fought for her and saved her… Now she’s gone. 💔 #teamMarcel

Salma

This is the second time Davina has had to die for the greater good...

Marina

Some say that the season's three villains didn't emerge victorious, did they? Tristan made them agonize over the idea of Rebekah being in the middle of the ocean, brought the strix, coldly killed Jackson and tortured Hayley. Aurora threw Rebekah into the middle of the ocean, hurt Camille and made her kill herself, threw Klaus at Elijah and buried Freya alive. Lucian, on the other hand, was the great genius, at the beginning of everything no one imagined that everything would come from him. He played games with Klaus and everyone else by pretending to be a good guy who just wanted to help, killed several wolves, hunted down the 7 royal packs to extract their venom and thus produce not only a cure for a wolf bite, but also part of the recipe for the original vampire's updated spell. He became an upgraded vampire, killed Finn and Camille, made the ancestors stand by him just because they hated the Mikaelsons, humiliated Klaus in his last moments of power. And despite everything, I don't see them completely as villains, which is why I like TO so much and prefer them to TVD, because the vast majority have their good and bad sides and no one remains the good guy for so long, just like the Mikaelsons themselves.

Marina

Not just a young person she was literally a child who had been killed more than that one time and they decided putting her through more hell was okay to save their dumbass family

Brooklyn La Mar

Just so I don't forget to mention it, the king kneeling for the queen is something that always gives me goosebumps. Klayley the GOATS.

Marina

Marcel went from family, to friend, to foe. I'm going to love seeing your reactions to the next two episodes. And yes, the Marcel and Vincent duo is super badass. #TeamMarcel

Marina

I love Elijah and Freya, but at that moment I hated them more than anything and they lost points of consideration with me, Vincent is right, the life of a young person was taken for the sake of those who have lived for +10 centuries. Klaus asked them not to do it, because they would lose Kol and Marcel, God I hate that cruel decision.

Marina

this episode is the main reason why i stopped liking freya 😭 davina will always be my fav witch and 2nd fav tvdu character

jaxon lee

The straw that broke the camel’s back, one of the most messed up episodes for me

Gio Bellisario

Oh also VERY random fun fact but luciens actor and pheobe (haley) were in h20: just add water together. they were both VERY young

Brooklyn La Mar

He saved Klaus’s daughter and they killed his, like that’s crazy

Halima

Elijah and Freya made a cruel decision. Elijah got knocked down a few pegs on my list of favorite characters this episode as well. Freya too, but Elijah was higher on my list. One of the first episodes in this show he disappointed me

Heidi Louise

Round 2.....

Marisa

well, now that lucien is dead i can finally say to you guys why i think that the trio were good villains, even though they are rotting in three different ways (lol) they were actually succesful in hurting the mikaelsons, they killed jackson, finn and cami, three major characters that the mikaelsons cared for, which is kinda the big thing because other villains didn't came close to that pd: and even though i loathe lucien he was a very smart villain, so he get points for that

Melanie

That is such an amazing point

Brooklyn La Mar

Yessss team marcel

Brooklyn La Mar

"but we both know the person you share a true connection with is still breathing. so you and I are not the same" klaus confirming that he considered cami his soulmate, we love to see it

Melanie

i'm so happy that they are excited for this lol

Melanie

a king kneeling for his queen, long live klayley

Melanie

i reeeeally love how the writers made marcel the villain just at the end of the season, since the beginning most of us thought that marcel was the perfect definition of "a friend, foe and family" yet marcel was on the mikaelson's side on pretty much almost all the episodes of this season, and the writers trick us onto thinking that there were three differents persons of the prophecy and that they represented the friend, the foe and the family. so even though we had the theory about marcel we kinda forgot it at mid season lol and then davina's death happen and well...

Melanie

klaus kneeling for hayley is literally EVERYTHING to me

maisyx13920

i'll always be on marcel's side idc idc, he has been doing everything for the mikaelsons, yet they really don't treat him like he deserves, he risked his life by being a double agent on the strix knowing damn well that he's a regular vampire, he protected them, and i can go on and on about everything he had done but the very relevant thing is that ffs HOPE IS ALIVE BECAUSE OF HIM! only because of that the mikaelsons owed him the world yet they couldn't even helped him in saving someone that he considers his daughter, that's literally the only thing he has asked and they failed him. idc that breaking the circle was the only way to kill lucien, the thing is if the solution was killing hayley, would they really just kill her and say "well, we didn't have an option" we all know the answer, other example would be cami, if she was the key to kill lucien, would freya and elijah kill her? THEY WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO KLAUS. but since marcel and kol are not klaus, they dgaf

Melanie

This episode coupled with the next one are my two favourite episodes of the season, especially E21. #TeamMarcel 🗣️

Halima

“If Marcel becomes the most powerful I am so sat” REALLL 😭

Halima

The prophecy stated “As your family is undone, you’ll see the beast that is to come” and in this episode Klaus says“Our family is fractured. I fear we may have created a new monster entirely” I love foreshadowing 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Halima

Marcel and kol just being so broken after davina actually dies😢😢 my heart breaks every single time

Brooklyn La Mar

ok here we go guyssss

Melanie

BRB going to watch this immediately!! Been waiting on this one!! 🙌🏼😭
