She’s so distraught by the end that she feels sickened by the things he said, couldn’t even touch the sandwich barely. She wanted to believe he was innocent but he really showed his true colors. Great acting by both of them and it’s crazy this was the first episode they filmed.

You guys should watch Top Boy on Netflix it stars Ashley Waters who plays DI Bascomb. It’s a British crime show it’s great and it’s produced by Drake

Austin

“You think you’re a queen yeah” oh he’s sick and hates women lock his ass up!

Sumaya

it's honestly so sad and scary that Jamie at only 13 already has these thoughts about women, he's just a kid but his mindset is already so twisted. He's obviously learned it from things he sees online and mentioning Andrew Tate in episode 2 was definitely a hint. I think the worst part is that he doesn't even realize how wrong it is, he thinks it's normal and that's what's so heartbreaking and terrifying.

Elle

Not significant compared to the message of the episode but butty is any sandwich, you can have a chip butty like Bryce said, but it’s not exclusively that. A few more English-isms were PSHE, which is basically a class in high school and stands for Personal, Social, Health and Economic. And then Poundland, which is our equivalent of what I think is called Dollar Tree in the US.

Eve

Australia is banning all social media (excluding youtube) for under 16s. I thought it was ridiculous, but after watching this show, I actually kind of support it now.

Brett Erix

God I have such a long day today but I'm so excited to watch this as soon as I'm off work!! Gives me something to look forward to 😍

Ondine

the actor who plays jamie is soso good! his performance gave me chills this ep

lucky

him saying that he didn’t s*xually a**ault her, and only killed her makes him better is just terrifying

lilly

I knew I could count on Rob to understand and articulate exactly why this episode was so terrifying.

I know this isn’t important compared to the episode overall but I’m not sure I could accurately articulate my feelings, so I’ll focus on the basics. In the UK a pickle isn’t the same as it is in North America, those are usually called gherkins. Pickle like this usually means like a chutney, or other pickled vegetables in a spread. So a cheese and pickle sandwich is a sandwich with cheese and like a pickled chutney. It’s actually pretty common/popular in the UK.

Crystal Pritchard

I thought of “Cheese and pickle? Basic.” from Eastenders 😭

Halima

😂😂😂 UK food man!

M

Yeah, y’all caught on like I thought y’all would. He really has a warped image of male/female relationships etc because of the things he’s consuming online. And while I can say yes, Katie certainly could’ve been nicer to Jamie (even if she wasn’t interested) they point out that many boys bullied Jamie too even to the point of spitting on him and he just shrugged that off but with Katie he k-worded her. And the family aspect and his view of his dad/masculinity does play a part - not the biggest part but it is still important - and some things that may seem “normal” maybe shouldn’t be but more on that later.

M

Remember Fleabag when people came into her cafe and would ask for a plain cheese or only tomato sandwich? Made me think of that. I was always so confused by that. Didn’t know if it was an actual thing lol.

Brittany Popka

Every episode has been a banger after a banger

Yasmine mixon

Best episode of tv I’ve seen in a long time.

Sabina

This episode was so hard to watch. The way Jaime flips on a dime is so scary. I could never do what that psychologist does.

Brieanne

FINALLY

Brooklyn La Mar

I think the sandwich is a metaphor. Jamie detest pickles but Jamie ate the sandwich. Katie wasn’t Jamie’s “type but she rejected him .

Ayruzii

For me this was saddest episode to watch. To see a kid that young groomed to adopt these unhealthy attitudes towards girls and relationships is just awful. In the small glimpses of vulnerability like when he talks about feeling ugly or being ostracised at school I just feel sorry for him, but yeah he’s absolutely in the right place.

Halima

This was the first episode they filmed and therefore Owen Cooper’s (Jaime) first time on any set. It’s amazing how well he did considering that.

Halima

Oooh I’ve been waiting

Aidan
