In 2006, I already graduated from high school by the time this came out and it was definitely my cd of choice for A WHILE. Know each song like the back of my hand. ✨This was Jennifer Hudson's first acting gig if I'm not mistaken so Beyonce got first billing even though Deena was a side character and Effie was the main character. I personally never thought Beyonce had any acting chops but I can tell she worked hard for this movie. ✨Also, the story of Dreamgirls is inspired and loosely based on Diana Ross and the Supremes and Motown Records, so yeah, that group was sort of supposed to be the Jackson 5.
