2022-08-19 23:08:56 +0000 UTCI like that you pointed out how naive the realization that everything in a relationship is "reused" is, because it's another element of this album that's quintessentially teenager: this album is like a record of a stereotypical first break up, a catalogue of all the things you learn about yourself and life during that experience. Additionally, i think this song is Olivia realizing that all these things that she thought were special and organic and unique were actually calculated moves this guy was making to win her over, things he "knew would work" because they work every time. She was young and naive enough to not realize he knew what he was doing, and this is her calling him out for taking advantage of her innocence. Great analysis as usual!
