Behind the Scenes: mlp_art1.ai
Added 2017-06-16 11:19:41 +0000 UTCThe mess you see above, scaled down to about 25%, is all of my vectors sprawled all over the first Illustrator file I worked fanart on, circa December 2011.
My original Twilight Sparkle, when I first started, is somewhat in the center of the canvas. Also left behind are screenshots as analysis and reference material.
The file became unstable and horrendous to work on, so I decided to start a new file. The later files weren't as completely filled as this, as I began working smarter and not slower.
Over the course of my "career", I've used over 12 files for MLP alone. I have specific "checkpoint" files that hold artwork as well as vector models for easy retrieval. I have separate files for Equestria Girls vectors (although you can see some EQG Twilight here). Vectors from other series (like Star vs.) are also on separate files.

I thought this would be fun to share.
(Note: An Illustrator file is an 8190-pixel square. My artwork emcompasses nearly its entire width, but not its height.)
