"Lavender Haze" MV Reaction/Analysis

Note- the purpose of this video is to model a literary-style analysis of the symbolism and imagery, as well as the choices throughout the video. I have never been as good as you guys at picking out the easter eggs (especially on a first watch), but that's also not the point of this video. Absolutely let me know what easter eggs y'all find, though, because Taylor is definitely the queen of using them! That being said, just know that my analysis is going to be a bit more English-y in nature. So, for example, whereas the weather forecast is likely an allusion to some other song lyrics throughout Midnights, I focused more on the symbolic nature of a weather forecast and the effect of this symbolism in context.

Idk why I am just now seeing this! Sorry for the delayed response! I do love that song! I was just listening to it earlier today actually! I just went back and watched the video, and as many times as I have watched the MV now, I have missed that every single time 😂😂😂 Like I said, Easter eggs really aren't my thing, so I am so glad that I have you guys to point them out for me!

Because she used that guitar with the koi fish painted on it during the Speak Now tour (the same guitar that appeared in the Anti-Hero music video). ALSO, Joe's astrological sign is Pisces, so the fish could also be referencing that, along with the constellations on the Mastermind vinyl, which were Pisces (Joe) and Sagittarius (Taylor). But I do agree that it could also symbolize balance and strength, and most likely, as others have said, that she lives in a fishbowl (just like the Lover music video, where he dives in with her).

2023-01-27 23:25:18 +0000 UTCThe part about watching the weather forecast occurs around the line "all they keep asking me...is if i'm gonna be your bride". Makes me think of the way everyone always wants a "forecast" of her life, like when she will get engaged/married. She pulls it apart and then sees the fish (showing how she lives in a fishbowl).
