"Morning Elvis" Analysis/ What's next?

Hi everyone! I am going to try to have the "Morning Elvis" analysis posted for you before the weekend! I know our Tuesday/Thursday schedule still isn't exactly back on track yet. However, I appreciate your patience as I adjust to a new country!

Also, I believe that "Morning Elvis" is our last track on Dance Fever, correct? That means we need to start thinking about what we want to do next! I have really enjoyed this album with you guys! Thank you all for making me a Florence and the Machine fan!

I also second FKA “Magdalene”. I know that everybody who creates art is an artist, but that album is ART. Like she really put herself in it and it shows. Maybe after Sabrina? Since they both have a motif of breakup (but quite differently portrayed). Love you KP!

Preacher’s Daughter since you would do its lyrics Justice and although heavy, I know you would find it interesting to “puzzle” the story from each song.

I’m definitely down for another Florence album, but if you’re looking to delve into some new music, “Bronco” by Orville Peck or “Preacher’s Daughter” by Ethel Cain could be some fun picks. Fair warning for Ethel Cain though that she can get kinda dark, and seeing your discomfort with Florence’s “demon voice” may be a sign that “Preacher’s Daughter” may be a little intense

I think you’d probably like How Big How Blue How Beautiful if you continue with Florence. If not, Be the Cowboy or another Mitski album would be awesome!

Please make sure to use the official lyric video for Morning Elvis as people often get the words wrong for this song. So excited to hear your analysis!

I don't know if you'd like to do another Florence album right away, but, if you were to do it, I'd recommend either "How big, how blue, how beautiful" or "High as hope", I believe these are at the same level as "Dance fever" lyrically. Aside from Florence, I'd like to see you tackle Kate bush's "Hounds of love", one of my favourite albums and a full on classic.
