Status update - Give it a few more days : dealing with art block and implementing some communication improvements

Hey all,

Thank you very much for your patience, as it has been a pretty barren month so far. To be pretty forthright and transparent, this update had me struggle against my first major art block of the project.

To explain in more details my creative process, I usually start the release cycle by sketching some stuff that I feel like drawing, poses and scenes I appreciate, etc. I then go from these drawings to develop the story around, i.e. how the characters will end up in these predicaments, how these pictures will come to exist., then flourish it up, draw additional scenes and background stuff, so on and so forth.

Following the content poll, I've decided to center the update around Clementine and thus started by sketching her in a bunch of scenes, and I was quite satisfied with these artworks. However, developing the story , the script and the conversation to bring up those scenes organically has proven quite difficult. I've scrapped quite a few different versions of the script to start over again, but was never quite satisfied with what I came up with and often ended up looking at my script for hours with a blank mind.

There's also a new gameplay mechanic I've been pondering that I'd really like to implement but once again, still not quite sure how to integrate it just yet.

A big lack of self confidence coupled with some other stuff I'm struggling with, and the pressure I put myself under to deliver new content has made it pretty difficult to overcome. Art block sucks because the project really matters to me and I want it to progress as fast as I possibly can, and most of all I want to deliver content for you guys that support me.

I think that for now, I will just try to stick with a version I started and deliver a build as switfly as possible so that you guys still have new content to enjoy, even if I'm not satisfied with that part of the story ; I might just come back to change things up later.

Also, I've been talking about improving communication for a while ; so in order to actually see some changes, I've decided to implement a weekly posting schedule. In order to clarify what exactly will be in those, I'll be posting up another poll to figure out what kind of stuff you guys would like to see, be it artworks, polls, progress updates, etc.

Still, I'm not going anywhere : the project is my unique focus at the moment. Developing a game like that, all by myself, with the technical choices I made, is a tremendous amount of work but I'm not discouraged by it and still determined to create, I hope, a unique and enjoyable gameplay experience.

Any sort of update would be nice man.. I really want to keep supporting you because I love what you're giving us. It's such a great game! Even if you're struggling just let us know
