JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run - Readthrough Part 22

Dang, this explanation was just so well put together! Making me appreciate this arc more than before! I appreciate you for this!

I'm glad you enjoyed this part of the story. I adore this fight, it's surprisingly simple and Ringo tells us EVERYTHING: he can rewind time for 6 seconds when he twists his wristwatch (fun fact about that at the end of the comment), and EVERYONE remembers what happened during that time, not just him, so he's not getting an unfair advantage from the reset, both him and his opponent know exactly what will happen, then they duke it out in do-overs until one dies (this is why he raised his gun after he "lost" because the duel wasn't over until Gyro killed him, so he forced Gyro to do it) It's a real testament to Ringo's character and his backstory that he gives his opponents as much of an even playing-field as possible, because he wants to improve and grow, and that involves challenging yourself which can't happen in a fight that he has "rigged" to win by hiding anything, and I honestly feel he was perfectly fine with his death because he knew that the encounter made Gyro grow, which is why he sends him off with the final words "Welcome to the True Man's world." Fun fact: Ringo DOES NOT NEED to turn the wristwatch to activate his stand, it's revealed in one of the inbetween chapter sketches which should have been at the end of this chapter that the wristwatch is just a psychological switch to activate the stand, which means it's a kind of unconscious way of limiting himself just to make the fight more fair, but in reality he could do it whenever he wants with no physical movement whatsoever and be one of the strongest opponents, but then he wouldn't grow from it because it would be too easy.

VERY INTERESTING! Gyro seems to have won off of his smart planning but also off of a lucky shot that Ringo didn't really go for any of the vital spots.

That's trippy but makes sense! I assumed they'd have to divide the stands since they both have one half of a pair of eyes.

Clarification on that 2nd shot thing. Ringo wasn't confident that he could kill Gyro and also survive by only firing one shot. As such, Ringo was initially on the defense at the start of the duel, wounding Gyro with a non-fatal first shot and blocking Gyro's first blow with his hand. He then planned on finishing him off with the 2nd shot. However because he didn't hit any vitals and kill Gyro with the first shot, that gave Gyro the time to execute his plan of using his steel ball to launch a piece of wood at Ringo.

The stand with Gyro is the same stand that guarded both of the eyes. It's not Gyro's stand, but since Gyro posses one of the eye, half of the guarding stand is with him wich enhances his Steel Ball technique. Tha other half of the same stand is with Diego wich gave him Ferdinand's Dino ability with a little bit of power up, since Ferdinand couldn't turn himself into a dinosaur while Diego can.
