The Face-Slapping Journey of a Sword Cultivator Male God (QT) Chapter 002: The Rightful Heir's Retaliation in the Story of a Reincarnated Concubine's Son - Part 1

Once Xuan Yuan expressed his consent to the binding, he immediately perceived a bond forming between his soul and another entity, bridging the two.

However, on closer inspection, Xuan Yuan concluded that this connection bore more similarity to a link with an artifact - a link that he held the power to sever whenever he chose.

"Hello, host~~ I am system 0617~~" Just as Xuan Yuan was contemplating this newfound connection, a lively and animated voice unexpectedly echoed, originating from the silver light spot that had previously produced a chilly, mechanical sound.

Apparently recognizing Xuan Yuan's surprise, the sprightly voice responded with a touch of shyness, "Oh my, the entity you just interacted with was my subsystem. It can be a bit stiff, I admit. Only once you form a bond with me can I truly awaken and communicate with you!"

"You're my first host~ We ought to get along well! By the way, do you have any unfulfilled desires? They will be transferred into the Main God Space. I'm certain you had some lingering wishes in your lifetime!" 0617 chimed in a buoyant and friendly tone, unfazed by the fact that Xuan Yuan had yet to respond.

However, Xuan Yuan keenly latched onto three words—in your lifetime.

His gaze, sharp as a blade, bore into the silver-white cluster of light.

With utter conviction of his continued existence, now more potent than ever post his Ascension, Xuan Yuan parted his lips and icily demanded, "Explain."

"Hmm? Explain? What do you wish me to clarify? Are you curious about the nature of system 0617 and why it has chosen to bind with you?" Pleased with Xuan Yuan's engagement, 0617 started chattering eagerly, spewing forth explanations unsolicited, regardless of Xuan Yuan's actual inquiries.

After a period equivalent to the burning of an incense stick, Xuan Yuan finally comprehended his current predicament.

Firstly, the entity identifying itself as 0617 was a subordinate of the Main God, with Xuan Yuan being its first bound host.

As for the Main God, according to 0617, it was the preeminent entity across numerous worlds.

Xuan Yuan's curiosity was piqued by this Main God, as he had indeed detected a more potent presence lurking behind 0617.

Currently, this mysterious entity appeared stronger than Xuan Yuan, eliciting a slight sense of caution within him.

Secondly, the reason for 0617 binding with him was to accompany him through various worlds to complete missions, answering the calls of seekers and earning rewards.

A fraction of these rewards would go to the Main God, while another would be granted to Xuan Yuan, allowing him to bolster his abilities and exchange for essential items.

Indeed, Xuan Yuan was intrigued by the idea of traversing numerous worlds. After all, wasn't Ascension the very act of evolving beyond the Cultivation World to superior realms?

Regarding the latter point, he dismissed the idea of fortifying his strength solely through conferred power.

True powerhouses never depend on outside forces for advancement; power can only be earned through personal effort, wrested with one's own sword. What others provide is often nothing more than a deceptive sweetener masking a bitter poison.

Xuan Yuan had already detected the poison lurking beneath this enticing offer. Main God... hm?

The final piece of information shared by 0617 pertained to the expansive Main God Store, purported to house a vast array of items from innumerable worlds within its bounds.

From sword techniques, elixirs, cultivation methods, and unique bloodline inheritances, to sacred garments, mechas, and magic—the Main God Store included them all. Provided one had sufficient points, they could exchange them for any of these commodities.

These points could be acquired by Xuan Yuan through the completion of missions and the subsequent rewards granted by the Main God.

Through these rewards, Xuan Yuan could continually enhance his capabilities and exchange for any item he desired.

Innocently, 0617 assumed that Xuan Yuan had been absorbed into the Main God Space post-mortem. It tried to lure him by offering a resurrection back to his original world, thus attempting to entice Xuan Yuan into undertaking missions with this promise as a bait.

There was some justification for 0617's misconception about Xuan Yuan's origins.

Before him, almost all the hosts who had entered the Main God Space were those who had been absorbed following their demise.

However, what System 0617 failed to grasp was that in Xuan Yuan's original Cultivation World, the celestial pathway to the Immortal World had been severed. Consequently, Xuan Yuan, in his ascension... had wound up in an unintended location.

The inhabitants of the Cultivation World cried out in fear: No, don't! Don't let the Great Demon Lord return to wreak havoc upon us again!

Xuan Yuan remained unfazed by their pleas, his face a mask of impassivity. His thoughts remained inscrutable as he issued a cold command, "Take me to the first world."

He was intrigued to explore other worlds, to comprehend the state of affairs following his ascension.

"Is the host already embarking on the mission so promptly? That's wonderful~" Exuding an infectious energy, 0617 circled around Xuan Yuan, before whisking him away from the tumultuous Main God Space and into the mission world.

Typically, a host should be unconscious when the system transports them to the mission world. As this was System 0617's first time binding with a host, it naturally assumed Xuan Yuan would follow the same pattern.

Yet, Xuan Yuan's colossal power enabled him to remain fully conscious during their interdimensional voyage.

'It feels akin to my ascension.' As 0617 breached the boundary into a new world with Xuan Yuan, this thought suddenly permeated his mind. He was certain he had landed in a new world, one entirely distinct from the Cultivation World.

Suddenly, he felt a sensation of weightlessness. In Xuan Yuan's perception, his soul abruptly separated from his body and attached itself to a foreign, lifeless one.

Simultaneously, his original body, that of a Mahayana Ascension cultivator, was swiftly concealed by Xuan Yuan within his soul, narrowly evading its consumption by the Main God Space.

A new world? What might it look like?

0617 stated that the entity he was inhabiting was indeed the initiator of the mission, the one who voiced the demand, and his objective was to fulfill this target's request, actualizing their long-held desire.

"Host, host, are you conscious yet? This is our first mission, we must execute it well." In the mission world, system 0617 couldn't manifest physically, but it continued to frolic relentlessly within Xuan Yuan's Sea of Consciousness, abounding with exuberance.

Xuan Yuan opened his eyes. Despite the body he currently inhabited not being his own, his formidable soul was more than sufficient to grant him perfect control over it.

The original owner of this body had already expired, and Xuan Yuan's occupation of this body was explicitly intended to accomplish his deeply held aspiration.

What greeted his eyes was an antique canopy and bed curtains, permeated with a timeless charm. Xuan Yuan rested at the center of an elaborately carved pearwood bed, his head reclining on a cool, hard jade pillow. His hands were folded over his chest, maintaining a stiff and solemn posture.

Seemingly oblivious to Xuan Yuan's regained consciousness and presuming he was yet to wake from his interdimensional journey, 0617 continuously chattered in the Sea of Consciousness, trying to rouse Xuan Yuan.

Propping himself halfway up from the lavish, ornate bed, Xuan Yuan frowned and uttered, "Quiet."

"Host, you're finally awake! 0617 has been calling you for quite a while. We've already arrived at the world of our first mission. I'm transferring the mission details to you for this world, and we need to collaborate effectively!" 0617's enthusiastic and expectant voice echoed, followed by a flow of information being sent to Xuan Yuan's Sea of Consciousness.
