Great Villain: Starting by Humiliating the Son of the Heavenly Fate Chapter 361: Tears and Laughter, Mo Hao's Unraveling Sanity

"How can there be such a powerhouse in the Immortal Martial Continent? Is this even possible!" Roaring incredulously from the depths of his heart, Mo Hao couldn't believe it.

Unbeknownst to him, cultivators from the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star had already descended, making the unfolding events utterly bewildering!

Mo Hao's astonishment was accompanied by a palpable sense of despair.

He could foresee the inevitable— a mysterious and formidable powerhouse would wipe out all the demons. And as a result, Mo Hao's chance for a grand display, his fleeting moment of glory, would once again vanish!

Just then, a pulse in the fabric of space that set hearts racing abruptly flickered by.

Silently, the hundred-thousand-strong army of demonic beings—be they demons or demonic beasts—was cleanly split in half!

The air was thick with the smell of blood, a pungent odor that filled the heavens and the earth, refusing to disperse!

"No—!" Mo Hao nearly burst into tears as he let out a near-roar.

The greater the hope, the deeper the disappointment!

He was genuinely on the brink of emotional collapse!

He couldn't bear another failure.

He had already tasted defeat too many times!

Every time he stood on the cusp of seizing his moment of glory, he would falter—it was as though fate was cruelly mocking him.

The grand spectacle he had so vividly envisioned, that felt almost within his grasp in dreams, was in actuality far, far away!

In that instant, Mo Hao felt as though the world had forsaken him.

A suffocating wave of loneliness, helplessness, and confusion welled up from within his heart.

Tears streamed down his face as he looked up at the sky. His mouth hung open, as if struggling for air. Even his ability to fly, despite being in the Transcendence realm, had become shaky and unsteady.

Suddenly, Mo Hao erupted into a fit of crazed laughter, his face contorted with agony. "Hahaha! This world has to be fake!"

"I didn't actually cross over; this is just a nightmare!"

"Exactly, it's all an illusion. If I truly had a system, how could fate manipulate me like this?!"

"Ahaha, why bother trying in a mere dream? I'll just wait to wake up. Damn, I remember I still have work to do." As he laughed and cried, Mo Hao flew into the distance.

Simultaneously, system notifications reverberated in Jiang Chen's sea of consciousness.

[Ding! You've successfully altered the plot, thwarting Protagonist Mo Hao from making his grand appearance and conquering his foes. Mo Hao's Heavenly Fate Value has dropped by 10,000 points!]

[Ding! You've successfully fractured Protagonist Mo Hao's mental state. Mo Hao's Heavenly Fate Value has decreased by 5,000 points!]

[Ding! You've accrued 30,000 Villain Value points!]

'Excellent, that's a pretty good haul!' A surge of excitement welled up in Jiang Chen's heart. 'If my calculations are accurate, Mo Hao should now have only 7,082 Heavenly Fate Value points left, and my kill threshold is 6,422 points! I'm just over six hundred points away from being able to eliminate Mo Hao directly.'

However, he didn't let his guard down; he grew even more vigilant instead.

Mo Hao was teetering on the brink of madness due to the successive blows to his spirit.

Would Heavenly Fate simply stand idly by and watch him crumble? Certainly not.

If Jiang Chen didn't intervene, Mo Hao would inevitably stumble upon a game-changing opportunity under the auspices of Heavenly Fate, reversing his dire straits in a heartbeat!

And that was something Jiang Chen could not let happen.

'What's the next move?' As he watched Mo Hao's dwindling figure, a thoughtful expression flickered across Jiang Chen's eyes.

Then, a sly grin tugged at the corners of his mouth. Silently, he relayed instructions to Ying Luo through his divine sense, gave her a reassuring pat on the head, and gestured for her to tail Mo Hao temporarily.

"Ah, human boy, what are you up to?" Ying Luo wore a look of bemused concern, glancing both ways to ensure that the enigmatic powerhouse had indeed vanished, before setting off in Mo Hao's direction.

One after another, Mo Hao and Ying Luo took to the air, covering a distance exceeding a million kilometers.

By this point, Mo Hao's divine sense could no longer pick up any trace of the battlefield he had just abandoned.

'Wordless Heavenly Jade, Death Calamity Dark Star Moon Dao Embryo!' With a mere thought, Jiang Chen activated the two Heaven-Defying Fate Changers. In an instant, he absorbed all the qi and blood energy from the army of a hundred thousand demons, along with a portion of their pure cultivation base.

Next, he shifted his focus to the several thousand human cultivators in the distance.

He had already provided them with a chance to enter the Immortal Martial Cave Heaven.

Moreover, the Western Ice Domain had been almost entirely cleared of demons and was now fairly secure.

Feeling no further obligation toward them, Jiang Chen soared off into the distance.

Shortly thereafter, he found himself atop a towering mountain peak and opened a spatial channel leading to the Immortal Martial Cave Heaven.

Without delay, he opened another channel, deploying a team of cultivators in the direction Mo Hao had flown. Their mission: to search for any signs of demonic presence.

In truth, this scouting team was meant to be seen by Mo Hao.

Jiang Chen intended to re-approach Mo Hao under his own identity, and doing so directly would surely raise suspicions.

However, if scouts were involved, Jiang Chen's discovery of Mo Hao's whereabouts would appear less questionable.

Everything unfolded just as Jiang Chen had planned.

Mo Hao persisted in his flight, soon passing small groups of cultivators on the hunt for demonic signs.

He paid them no mind and continued his journey.

To Mo Hao, everything in his immediate environment felt like an illusion—a part of the nightmare he wished to escape.

'This should work.' Jiang Chen flashed a subtle smile, waved his hand to open a spatial channel, and materialized before Mo Hao.

The sudden disturbance naturally caught Mo Hao's attention. Upon recognizing Jiang Chen, his complexion paled and he let out a shrieking yell, "Jiang Chen, you jinx!"

"Stay away from me!" Mo Hao, akin to a spooked bird, cried out as he abruptly veered off course and fled.

Feigning surprise, Jiang Chen pursued him, "Mo Hao! Why are you running away? I've been searching for you for quite some time!"

Easily catching up, Jiang Chen added incredulously, "Also, you look completely different now. What happened to you? What did you go through after you left the Pure Frost Domain?"

"Stay away! Don't talk to me, just go away!" Mo Hao hollered, his visage twisted in despair, as he altered his course yet again to flee.

Jiang Chen flew in tandem with Mo Hao, matching him shoulder to shoulder as they soared through the sky. With earnestness coloring his voice, he tried to reason with Mo Hao:

"Mo Hao, what in the world has shaken you so deeply? Or are you just too fragile, crumbling after only a few setbacks?"

"Do you have any idea the trials I've undergone to protect the Immortal Martial Continent all these years? The suffering and wounds I've taken are a hundred times worse than yours!"

"Are you aware that right now is a golden opportunity? The legion of one million cultivators from the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star has descended to combat the demon army!"

"Especially for you—isn't this the moment you've been waiting for?"

"You accused me of spoiling your previous opportunity, well, here's your new chance!"

"This battle involves millions of soldiers and confrontations with great powerhouses at the Nirvana Peering realm!"

"Together, you and I could wade through the army, go toe-to-toe with these Nirvana Peering realm powerhouses, slay a dozen or so, and find our way back to the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star!" he urged passionately.
