You know, you could almost consider this pheremone a survival trait. If a predator or enemy is pulled into a mating instinct instead of attacking / killing, then they're far more likely to either leave her be afterwards or at least take action to protect her as their mate. While the end result might be uncomfortable for Silver it DOES ensure her long-term survival.
