Somehow, the fever for standing stones really caught on to me^^ This will be a piece that won't be really interesting in it's subject, but I plan to learn a lot with this one one how to get better with contrast and colours, as everything here is pretty subtle from that viewpoint.
I recently became fascinated with the technique of 'Chiaroscuro', used since the renaissance and basically putting light against dark (or the other way around) where you want the viewer to focus. Interestingly though, the human mind does not just focus on things that are in the light though, we also focus heavily on something that is dark against a light background. I tried applying that more and more in my last pieces, and hope one can get a sense of that.
Anyways, I think I've finally found a balance with my commissions, which is to do them in "sprints" and have my mind free of them between those sprints.
