New Artwork (Oilpastel)

Hi friends!

Working traditionally feels great! There is a certain kind of feeling to doing something with your own hands again and feeling it on the paper in reality, and not just seeing it on a screen.

The colors look really vibrant and yet, they still don't glimmer so much as it would disturb the painting. However, they are a bit too soft for my liking, being really oily.

I saw that there are regular pastels as well which tend to be more chalky and immediately ordered them as well.

This painting itself was inspired mostly be the sketch that was still done digitally (with the tree on top of the cairn), yet I didn't want to go completely overboard with the amount of things going on in it in order to not make the medium too hard to learn.

Next week will be rather short, I'll only work two days at Akris, and will have the rest if the week for painting. Hopefully, the pastels will arrive soon!
