New Artwork "Home in the Mountains"
Added 2023-09-27 14:35:48 +0000 UTCHi everyone! These chalk cliffs are usually home to families and have been in their possession for ages, continually being worked on while carving more rooms into the rocks.
As you can see, the piece undertook quite some changes with its colors regarding the rocks itself, which was the center of my focus for a long time. After almost scrapping the whole piece and calling it off the balance of having a chalk rock somehow suddenly worked, or at least worked as well as it could in that moment. There is A LOT to be learned with really bright or really dark surfaces - even the tiniest change in value can throw of the piece completely, especially when the areas are that big and prominent in the piece. But in the end, it turned out okay in my opinion, and hopefully you like it as well.
