New Artwork "Wizard's Travels: Shopping"

Hi everyone!
So here it finally is! I have no idea when the last time was since I drew more than one character, and from such a short distance to us as viewers. As for the lineart, it felt almost meditative - there was a certain "letting go", not caring about straight lines or if this line looks clean or not, which was so freeing in a way. Another interesting thing is that all of this was painted on one layer beneath the lineart, which is something that I've never done safe for tiny scenes, but I wanted to challenge myself.

As for the ads in the piece, I'll probably keep it to English. And as I definitely lack the motivation and/or creativity to think of 10 new names and products every time I draw something within civilization, I actually set done and made a list of 40 different companies of all sizes with their names and what they sell, which will be a list that I can revisit any time I draw something like this.

This piece was also done extremely fast, it only took 7-8 hours which is definitely a good development.

I'm off to work on a commission now, have a nice rest of the week!

Best,
Simon

I’m new to procreate and still find it a challenge to do colours!

This is the piece that made me buy your procreate brushes and sign up for your Patreon, I do have a request if possible, I really admire how you do the colouring, would you be able to share your process on how you applied the colours layering and masking? If not I know there are things artists would like to keep as a trademark so understandable !

I do, thanks. All of these are thoughts that I had as well, but wouldn't want to tackle everything at once. But I'll definitely tackle that piece by piece, I'm a big fan of step by step growth. 👌

It's really interesting! Detailed, as always, in a different manner; however, if you want to further challenge yourself, you may try and get better at drawing characters. The cat and the wizard are fine, but the merchant, even considering your style, seems too broad stroke. Plus, it's a street anf it seems way too empty, without more people or creatures, and the front house door and that big window are too near to where the viewer is standing to be *that* black, though the balcony is unexpectedly beautiful 🤔 I hope you take this as constructive criticism; I do love your illustrations and I hope you keep growing, as an artist!^^
