Jewelpet Sunshine 35

This took a bit longer than I wish for, but hopefully next episodes will come faster!

Now, this episode. This was a fun one, but there were a few things that made us scratch our heads.

I also made a ton of effects (and we scrapped another bunch because they are more annoying than necessary) which took a bit, so I hope you guys like them! It sure was a nice learning experience, so there's that at least.

Now, Whippu and I had to decide whether we explained the following inside the episode or we did it "outside", in this post. We decided to do it over here.

You guys should know by now that I love to add unnecesary exposure lol So bear with me.

The first part of this episode features Tour. This season, Tour changes his behaviour plenty and for some reason it's obsessed with Spain. Now, I am from Spain, so naturally this picked my interest. It is always funny to see your country represented in media, american people might be too accostumed to it but for outsiders it's kinda of a treat :P

My surprise comes when... Well, I don't really mean to spoil the episode, so I apologize in advance!

Tour attends a spanish festivity during his summer break, but it's not just -any- festivity. He apparently attends La Tomatina. Now, naturally I don't expect anyone to know what this is without googling it (conveniently the animators decided to add a link to the website in the episode lol), but the funny thing is that it is an event that takes places in Buñol, which is 2 hours driving from my hometown, and inside my state, so I've known about it since I was a kid (I've never attended, sadly). I would like you guys to look it up though! It's a really funny event, very original and all.

Naturally, with any representation of Spain in media, it has to come to bullfighting too. There is no bullfighting during La Tomatina, for obvious reasons. So my take is that they mixed yet another very important spanish event, San Fermín, which takes places July 7th (date may vary slightly) and involves running through narrow streets in front of bulls, leading them to the arena where the bullfighting event will take place.

Last but not least, Tour mentions "valencian oranges" one time. This, once more, is very closely related to me; since the state where I live is called "Valencia". So he probably ate some while he was in Buñol lol Valencian oranges are to Spain (and Europe) what California oranges are to the US. I don't dare to say they're worldwide famous, but they are very high quality and so they are sought all over Europe. 

I had a lot of fun with that little segment of the episode, honestly, and I hope you guys do too! Thanks for allowing me to rumble.
