Episode 296 - Happy Ham-Ham Wedding! (revamped)

This episode was originally subbed on April 20th, 2009. So it is 11 years old!

Since we worked on the last episode of Jewelpet Sunshine, we found it fitting to also revamp the last episode of Hamtaro! 

For today, Valentine's day, we were actually choosing between three love-related episodes, but we ended up going with this one, which wasn't on the list, to match Jewelpet Sunshine's release... and funny enough, it is the most love-related episode there is!

This episode was, to be frank, terrible translated. We have changed about 90% of the lines, most of them were completely made up and a lot of them had big changes. You can even consider it a whole new episode.

Now, we feel a little bad about spoiling this episode, but honestly this is common knowledge already, since it is a revamped one.

We want to address a few things that we found rather intriguing regarding this episode. 

First of all, it is noticeable how Oxnard and Pepper influence in each other. Pepper for once was like a wild horse, never stopping, never calming down. However, in this episode she says a line similar to "it is ok to take it easy from time to time", which does not fit her character. On the other hand, we have Oxnard. A coward and polite guy that rarely gets mad or talks back. And yet in this episode we see him really mad.

Both characters are showing up traits, characteristics of their significant other. Pepper is learning to be more calm while Oxnard is learning to be more proactive. It is a shame this happen in the very last episode because we would like to see a bigger development, but it is a nice touch and shows that the writers were really caring about their characters development.

Then we have another nice treat. In this very last episode, we heard from Kana that she dreams of a "hamster world" where Oxnard and the others just play and have adventures. And we heard Mindy fueling that idea due the fact that Lapis and Lazuli are "very free" hamsters. Imagine what would have happened if they actually inquire about this idea, and they found out the truth. Too bad the series ends 4 episodes short of 300.
