2023-08-31 12:24:36 +0000 UTCPike and Patel were in a cabin together in the first episode in season 1, but they were only dating and she was just staying over and was still a Captain. Pike on the other hand did seem to be planning to retire but got pulled back in. I really loved this episode, but I do like musicals, so it was almost guaranteed I would at least like the episode, I've at least mildly liked every musical episode of a show I've seen except for 7th Heaven, I regret wasting my time on that episode. I was a little worried about Star Trek doing a musical because it just doesn't seem like a show that does musicals, however if any of the shows could pull it off, it would be Strange New Worlds, which I think it did very well. It's actually made it onto my very short list(3) of top musical episodes. I'm curious what your favorite song or songs were, my absolute favorites were Uhara's and La'an's, but I also liked the first song, as well as Chapel's and Spock"s. Side note, the Klingon General was played by the actor who played Hemmer in season 1 of Strange New Worlds.

2023-08-31 02:15:49 +0000 UTCYea they had to do this to spock because as youve seen in episode 7 spock is well known for his seriousness, if somehow ended up staying with chapel she wouldve definitely deviated him a bit more from his path. Captain Pike and Captain Patel are only dating but as they are both starship captains its both a struggle and a blessing because they are usually always busy and dont have to worry to much about the relationship. They were staying together at the beginning but i think that was just a temporary vacation together i believe.
