Its likely some of them are like Marrock(or whatever his name was lol) because of low supplies after being stranded for so long but i think most of them just survived through thrawns leadership. Remember you need people to operate a starship especially one as big as a imperial star destroyer. If they all died then that ship wouldve likely crashed into piridea like ahsokas venator did in the clone wars finale.

Or how they didnt suffocate from broken starship windows As soon as he said "all i want to do is go home" or along those lines all i said was "well hes ded" lol The history of the galaxy books sounds like something yoh would find in a game They focused way to much on the sabine walking scenes for how short this series is
