They're all heavily active n hiphop culture. Yes all the performers were/are celeb artists (Talent show beat boxer Dougie Fresh...Teach Me How to Dougie😏💃🏿). Ths was the 1st hiphop feature film....11yrs aftr Kool Herc (Played the Club Roxy Owner) fathered the culture of hiphop by bringing all the 5 elements together for the 1st time at his lil sis back to skool party. The partys were all just like Kennys. Harry Belafonte had his finger on the pulse of what was happening and got the movie made. We... GenX, r so protective of hiphop bc as Ramo represents...we were literally dying creating it. Police killed us for break dancing, dressing hiphop (that meant gangs to thm) and even for carrying bags suspected of having paint n thm. HipHop50 is a celebration of survival, reflection, appreciation, success & education. If we don't tell & share our history it'll b even MORE misrepresented & lost‼️🙌🏾
