2023-11-01 03:58:21 +0000 UTCTheres very few star fleet captains we see in canon that would be terrible to work under but we do purposefully see the good side of Star Fleet in these shows, some of the more modern shows have been purposefully showing the bad/incompetent side of star fleet like with Captain Lorca in early Discovery. The people we regularly see are called the Bridge crew they are helmsmen(usually changes in shows), Conms Officer, Tactical Officer, Science Officer, Chief Engineer, and there underlings usually there to assist. Some ships also have a ships councilor because of all the wild shit. First officers are the Captains 2nd in command and are usually a jack of all trades type of character.
