I didn't see the point of spending a bunch of cash on a simple band, and I think having something less precious on my finger means I don't have to baby it. I think it's more comfortable to lift heavy things with a soft band, and even though I have a desk job, I do spend a little bit of time on construction sites and I take comfort in the fact that I won't be degloved by a silicone band
