I took a week away from the computer, but not for a good reason.

Imo if you want to continue biking, it's definitely worth it to figure out how to replace it with a carbon dioxide canister and spare tube in a saddle bag (assuming you're not worried about it getting stolen if it's left out)

I took the GPU out and hit it with some ISO. I wasn't able to see much else, since my mobo is mounted vertically

Sorry to hear about the PC! Don't hesitate to take parts out and wipe them down with some ISO. They go back in the way they came out! Sounds like the GPU got the worst of it, probably because they usually sit horizontally. I'd stick with the road bike if that's what you're used to. Mountain bike tires are bigger, thus more likely to role over a thorn. Patch kits work wonders for the stray thorn, but they do require good technique and a solid 15 minutes to get the job done on the side of the road. If you are getting pinch flats, then your tire pressure may be too low and you could keep them at a higher pressure. Tubeless is a bit more expensive, and primarily sought after for weight reduction and ability to run at much lower PSI without getting pinch flats.

Might want to look in to tubeless tires. You'll need compatible rims + tires, but then you can fix flats like you can for cars with plugs. Look up some videos from Park Tool about it.
There is some added maintenance of applying rim tape and sealant, but the biggest pro is not having to deal with inner-tubes any more.
