Keep a notebook and pen at your desk at all times. If you ever head into a meeting, grab both. Even if you think you can remember all the important details (you can't), people love to see someone take notes hearing what they have to say. It's a real ego-inflator and trust-builder.
Don't do business with Wells Fargo.
You probably have a standard word that you use at the beginning of most emails, and it's probably "thanks". Try "understood" instead. It acknowledges the recipient's message while confirming that you comprehend it. This is a byproduct of having watched Ten Bullets ten thousand times, but the best side effect is that it deliberately brings attention to whether or not effective communication is taking place (provided you're not afraid to drop the occasional "I don't understand".)
Practice discerning between "this is my opinion" and "I read a hot take or a headline and now I'm considering making it my own opinion as well"
If you drive a car with a leather interior, stock up on these leather air fresheners. They are visually unassuming, and they smell like real fresh leather. I would hang one of these up in my 6-year old car and get comments like "new car.... nice!" from first-time passengers. They're only three bucks and the oddly named brand is run by one guy I met at a farmer's market in college. I'm always scared that he'll go out of business some day and this hack won't be valid any more.
I'll never truly learn the rules surrounding punctuation, end quotes, and parentheses.
Keep a txt file on your work desktop and add a sentence every time you do something valuable. When Summer comes around and annual check-ins take place, you'll have a big list of reasons why you deserve to earn more.
Now is a great time to start planning your Fall garden if you plan on tending to one.

I'm reading Jeff Vandermeer's Wonderbook on recommendation from Ian Danskin over at Innuendo Studios, and it also advises keeping a notebook nearby!
Not only for meetings and work, but to track down stray thoughts, inspiration, or imaginations. Or, keep one by your bedside and stop worrying that you're gonna forget your ideas by morning!
