New COPPA Compliance Policy Is Trouble for my Channel
Added 2019-11-15 03:58:33 +0000 UTCHey guys I need your help. If you follow me on Twitter you probably saw this already but I'd like to make sure everyone sees it.
There are new rules rolling out for YouTube that could potentially ruin my channel. Due to FTC regulations YouTube is cracking down on videos of ANYTHING that could be seen as "made for kids", which could potentially include my videos. As you can see here Youtube auto-flagged most of my channel as being "kids videos".
This means my videos would:
- Lose 60-90% of their monetization
- Comments / playlists / endscreens turned off
- Any video NOT flagged as "for kids" and found to be considered as such according th incredibly vague terms could get up to a $42,000 fine from the FTC
